I was just thinking today that emoji are kind of like Chinese characters. It would be interesting to have a kind of emoji / esperanto type mashup.
The main innovation would be that it would be a language where you could read or write it before you knew how to speak or pronounce it. Each emoji could have a specific sound that your smartphone could tell you.
I think it would be appealing to people to be able to use a language without having to study / learn it first.
