    fac :: Int -> Int
    fac x = case x of
      0 -> 1
      n -> n * fac (n-1)

or even

    {-# LANGUAGE LambdaCase #-}

    fac :: Int -> Int
    fac = \case
      0 -> 1
      n -> n * fac (n-1)
