I love the game. However, my recommendation would be to get a Wii U instead. Far cheaper, and the Wii U has at least a half-dozen other games that should interest you. The Switch has one good game and maybe one or two more on the horizon and costs at least $100 more.

I can't find a Wii U under $250AUD, and I'd only want to play BoTW and Bayonetta 2, which I'm hoping is re-released on the Switch.

I have it for Wii U as well. It runs pretty well, though 1080p would be nicer than 720p. If you don't have a Wii U already, getting into the system might not be easy right now unless you can find good used stuff. Many of the major retailers just cleared out of Wii U systems and official accessories.

The portable feature is very nice. The docking works seamlessly.

Sure, there's nice stuff about the Switch. It depends on how much you dislike the idea of spending an extra $100+ and having zero other games to play.
