My impression is that he has the charisma of a loaf of bread and won't do real well in politics.

Some people certainly seem to like Trump, but I can't say I see the charisma myself. Some pretty toxic, hideous, unpleasant people have been elected to very high positions.

Trump is extremely charismatic.

Look at the pundit reaction to his speech a couple weeks ago, or at how well people respond to his extemporaneous word salad.
