I have always been in (1) or (2), but can think of (3) I'd love to be at this job (because of company mission, etc) . Maybe it is a subcase of (2)?

I think that would be a subcase of (1). Would be "give me what I want" which would be other reasons than "pay me what I want".

Absolutely, I should have phrased it that way from the start. I don't view salary as the end all be all, however I'll be the one to choose what I'm willing to take a discount for, not them.
