Look at the esp8266, it's a tenth of the price of a pi, and it has built in wifi and is seriously tiny.

I'm currently using a couple around the house for controlling my lights. They come with great example code and libraries, including a webserver.

I'm thinking about doing something very similar (using the NodeMCU variant)

Do have a description of your setup?
