This is the first comment that I have read that has acknowledged this situation. I've been noticing this for quite a while. At first I was reluctant to believe it because designers should know better than anyone how bad that can turn out in the long run. Firefox is treated as IE now by this crowd. Google has been particularly shameful promoting their browser. It's gotten to the point where if your Firefox version is two releases behind they start showing their little "install chrome" ad. Ridiculous.
