Right, if Google doesn't think you are in the US, you won't be able to download Voice from Play. Which is really annoying if you actually are in the US...

I had to deal with this problem earlier this month, and the answer here fixed the issue for me: http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/44677/how-to-chan...

Re:Git Tips on Monday August 19, 2013 @10:39PM (#6241365)
The git-config man page[1] is probably the best resource. The list of options is in the configuration file section under 'Variables'.

For reference, I googled "research at google".

It's also not very sophisticated last I checked. Just change the extension.

Many ad networks[1] do already provide an opt out mechanism. You look for a blue icon[2] in the corner of the ad, which if you click it should take you to an opt out page.

I dug a bit further, and also found this: http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ which purports to allow you to opt out from any or all of the participating companies from that page.

Re:David Gelernter predicted Dropbox in 1996 on Sunday February 03, 2013 @11:48AM (#5160129)
This part jumped out at me:

"As a solution, Gelernter proposes moving all of human knowledge to online servers so that the in-person college experience can be replaced by user-driven self-education."

Re:Mega has launched on Saturday January 19, 2013 @03:42PM (#5084677)
Here's what they have to say regarding browsers: https://mega.co.nz/#blog_1

Basically, only Chrome seems to be supported because it is "the most advanced browser currently in existence"

It's a redirect to that domain.
You can enable it in the control panel, under 'Organization & users'. It's listed as Google+ but appears alphabetically after all the other Google things.

You can use Google's cache of the page: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://...

Clicking on the current page link should still allow you to read the page too, at least it works for me.

They plan to launch food supplies to Mars in 2016, 7 years before sending the astronauts and 2 years before they've even scouted out where to establish a settlement.

I don't understand why they would send the supplies there so early. Can anyone explain this timeline to me?

"Never send the user a new password over email."

This is what HN does right now. I know, because I forgot my password just yesterday.

Re:Got 15 minutes and want to learn Git? on Wednesday July 04, 2012 @01:33PM (#4200185)
I liked http://gitref.org when I started with git. I find it's a good quick reference to common git commands so you can quickly get up and running with git. The rest of learning git is really just practice and searching for how to do stuff when you need to.

The section on commit explains what the '-m' option is:http://gitref.org/basic/#commit
