Dude, this is Sebastian Marshall, one of the great strategists of our time. He specializes in winning and communicating the art of winning through his blog.
Now to the untrained eye, his posts may come across as the work of a delusional, narcissistic windbag, but if you look deeper, you'll find that with his hectic schedule it's amazing that he has time to write at all. Between fighting off Asian gangsters with high-powered kung fu kicks and hosting charity events for hospitals whose name he misremembers, he still finds the energy to offer priceless career guidance and moral support to patio11. Soak up his wisdom, so that you too may learn the entrepreneur strategies of the winning scientist.
As an aside, I would love to read more about his science. I've learned so much about strategy and entrepreneurship and winning from him, but not much yet about science. Please write about your science, Scientist Sebastian, so that I may seek to improve my own science, which has hitherto proven most unfruitful.
Right now going to the Adioso homepage results in a 'Search Fail!' message and anything I try to search for results in the same.
Funny that this is on Posterous. Haven't they learned that if you're going to bash your competition like this you'd better be able to actually back it up?
I don't the think this article is 100% incorrect. Here's why: the author of the article is, in actuality, talentless. He has no talent. That part is true. He even states that the people impressed with his computer skills are those without any skills themselves. They were simply impressed by the 'magic' he was able to do with something they didn't understand. He's correct in understanding this his feeble skills are no indicative of any real talent. He is average in every sense of the word. He got that right.
What type of consulting firms are you talking about?
I can guarantee you that in the eyes of top young grads Google has looked less interesting than Facebook for several years now. Google is where you go if you aren't good enough for Facebook. It's a safe, stale, big corp that is the dream job of every mediocre, middle-aged programmer out there.
Yes, because they need $100 billion in revenue to be a $100 billion cap company.
There is no way to possibly find this out.
What you 'personally think' this number is should suffice.
It's absolutely hilarious (and sad) that people here are jumping all over that nonsense line, and now's there's an actual debate over whether Facebook is worth $100 billion.
1) These are numbers Arrington pulled out of his ass.
2) 0.1% at present valuation is already beyond his $3.5 million counteroffer. Nobody is getting 0.1% anymore.
