Doesn't seem like a very useful article. DVD playback, etc, are givens....even for people new to ubuntu (you'll find the info with any google search). And is amarok really that much better than rhythmbox? Seems a bit KDE oriented.

I'm always glad to seem Microsoft doing something neat -- they have a lot of bright people.

That said....Popfly won't load on my browser -- fully updated firefox running under ubuntu (strangely, the error message implies firefox is supported).

Re:Tata launches the $2500 car on Thursday January 10, 2008 @06:07PM (#96960)
Another underrated small car was the geo metro - more than 50 mpg in the cheapest configuration, and very reliable (the early ones were made in Japan, and could easily make it to 200k miles if the driver wasn't very heavy).

That said, in the USA you would almost certainly be better off buying a ~10-15 y/o honda or toyota - slightly worse mileage, but probably much more reliable.

How many people here run open wi-fi networks? I live in a semi-urban environment and wouldn't mind sharing my bandwidth, but I then I have to put passwords on my shared printers/network shares/etc.

I've been meaning to set up an additional, open wireless network....but I've just been too lazy to open up my router and install another wireless card.

Interesting site. Happens to link to most of my favorite print magazines, and the dual of 'theissue.com's focus on blog posts.
