GLM 5.3 is far ahead of anything Cohere has ever released, and it's relatively easy to host.
If one provides it access to the wiki and reddit, if just from within game it's quite cryptic
Maybe it gives me some pause, but the ceo of ctl or byd isn't actively an antagonist and actively operating as a villain against everything I value, they're just trying to make cool cars and the best batteries. In all honesty I think most people around the world see the US and China unfortunately in the same light - that's not how the world was 5-6 years ago.
You can argue that the actual real on the ground experience is different, but this is how my neighbors and family think.
"effectively" is doing some heavy work in this sentence
It's so fascinating that people think that AGI will be winner-take-all. If anything the Chinese labs have shown us is that being first is almost a handicap as everyone can quickly learn from your released models and distil into open weights quite easily. If the competitive environment continues to exist how it is today, there doesn't seem like a trillion dollar market for anyone.
Except for the last bit, as an outsider to the US you literally just described the USA as it is today.
I'm in Canada and have a Tesla, if I was going to buy another car I'd be definitely looking at the Chinese versions for this exact reason. Anyone openly buying a new Tesla in Canada these days is saying they are a sociopath and/or a predator.
Disassembly and deep inspection of binaries seems like a good example, or rewriting an existing codebase in rust. You can do it yourself but if you don't have the background there's a ton you need to learn.
Or instead of hamstringing your entire way of life and making things immeasurably harder.. we could regulate them too.
The economics of game development is uniquely brutal. You can't just hit it out if the park once or twice and make a classic you can earn residuals from, people move on quickly and you don't earn on repeated playthroughs.
You can make a complete masterpiece, and build it cheaply - but there's no guarantee you can do it again.
That's why there was such a massive push towards live service games and MMOs, or microtransactions - it's quite literally the only way to make one creative effort valuable 1 year post release.
I don't envy folks who make games for a living and I also don't envy the founders and leadership, it just seems do brutally difficult to do well.
Do they share latency / concurrency figures (aka the deployment shape that gets them that token/s/cluster? Would be interesting if they're using deepEP/WideEP + PP and TP
If it's wrong just interrupt it and describe how it's wrong, or if you need to brainstorm more on a feature - it's not that hard
Angel banning is better, 100% agreed on giving it false data that the scraper builders can't easily detect. Give it seemingly correct and useful but totally wrong answers
Get your own compute, require and force openweights and right to compute. Make sure NV and AMD keep making prosumer hardware that can run Kimi k3
There was a book I read maybe 10-15 years ago about a world where governments Essentially dissolved and in place there was nothing but mega corp monopoloys - Jennifer Government was the name ( if you ever played the MUD Nation States yk)
I thought that was an interesting idea, but not something that could ever happen..
We've been doing those for a long time, longer than gambling has existed - I'm arguing that just because something is "in our nature" certainly doesn't give us an excuse to give up trying to strive for better.
There are some people who are prone to addictions and there are others (like myself) who aren't, it's genetic - why should we let people prey on addicts?
So is murder psychopathy and enslavement, you want to regulate that?
So I'm an SA, but have been working on systems architecture and have shipped large scale changes to very big platforms in prod and maintained them. With fable and astra I tried making a video game together, it didn't work.
The agents have incredible capabilities to develop any bit of code I need and to write good scripts to catch the most basic failure modes, they can even "play the game" by spinning up a VM and using ahk to trigger game state and take screenshots and gifs and use that to understand what it built.
Knowing what to build intuitively to maximise fun, or any other illogical human experience won't be RLable ever. Unless we're at brains in glass jar territory but I don't think we have to worry about that now.
Honestly the performance hit of WSl even being alive and running in the background of my XPS was so bad I just ssh into a workstation and do everything on there instead. Trying to get windows to just be usable is such a massive pain in the ass.
I'm happy you have that confidence, I think it would only take 1 generation of conditioning to get us to centralized autocratic rule. It won't be trump in power, it'll be Vance or someone else less popular but smarter.
More like America going to war with NATO at this point
Corporate artifcactory? Ask your IT team?
But then what currency would they use in eve online? How could we replace all of the iskies memes
If Chinese industry is willing to operate at a loss in order to poke the US in the eye, sure - markets too small and labor too expensive otherwise imo.
I'm Canadian, the auto industry here died the moment trump started all of this tarrif talk in February, it just hasn't gotten cold yet.
Because of the tarrif and trade war our local industries will struggle and collapse, there's nothing we can do about that - they were dependent on US trade partners and markets, the Canadian market is much smaller. We have massive productivity issues, there's little chance we'll successfully build our own auto industry.
In the interim buying more from China doesn't really hurt us, and sends a strong signal to the remaining people who care about foreign policy in Washington that there are penalties to treating allies like enemies.
I used to really strongly oppose Chinese expansion and the rise of cheap products getting dumped everywhere - I still do, but I oppose the US admin more; and at least they're stable and clear about what they want
I full heartedly recommend anyone who wants to learn, to use the Socrates skill, and then build a daily 1 hour curriculum that you will tackle. It's painful and not pleasant, but it works quite well when to don't have a teacher and want to learn something really hard and complicated
My favorite - reply like I do, review my previous messages to understand my tone and verbosity. As much as needed, as little as possible
You might be working on much smaller and well constrained problems, pair programming works well when the problem is unconstrained with many complex and interconnected layees
Compared to the time of great powers before WW1 and during, this has been by far the most peaceful the globe has been for a very long time
My Garmin instinct is kind of the perfect dumb smart watch, it has a very simple calculator style rendering and the simplest speaker possible. Alarms are vibrations and water proof to a reasonable depth, battery lasts 2 weeks. Really have no reason to upgrade
