For what it's worth the general sentiment on UK military sites and forums is that the guy hasn't got a fucking clue what he's talking about and most seem to reckon someone's upset him or he's been passed up for promotion or something and is retaliating by writing sensationalised shite that makes the Navy look bad.

I am always wondering about Bitcoin and taxes. How does that work? And is it even taxable?
Re:Google tracks you everywhere. See it with Maps. on Monday December 05, 2016 @08:47AM (#13105265)
Something that has been useful for me was making the Google account with random credentials (name, age, etc.). This way, at least they're tracking a non-existent person.
but could* be factually inaccurate.

In terms of their mission statement which is convince people that electric cars can be 'cool', practical and inexpensive he has succeeded much more than you are giving him and the people at Tesla credit for.

I've seen that in every gaming competition I've ever entered. Which is probably over twenty at this point.

I wish there was local groups or meetups with people to talk about and maybe even potentially contribute to this effort. I kind of feel this way in general about science. I'd love to go somewhere after work and experiment in labs.
Some of them seemed relieved the war was going to be over. It was also interesting they weren't that interested in winning.

HEISENBERG: One can't say that. One could equally well say "That's the quickest way of ending the war.” HAHN: That's what consoles me

WEIZSÄCKER: I believe the reason we didn't do it was because all the physicists didn't want to do it, on principle. If we had all wanted Germany to win the war we would have succeeded.

Re:How to Write a Spelling Corrector on Thursday September 08, 2016 @01:23PM (#12455028)
It's funny, I was given this as a lab assignment around when the article came out. In fact, we were shown the article. We had an hour, maybe two, for the lab and had to re-implement it in C++. At this point I already had 3-4 years of experience with C++ but found the task ABSOLUTELY daunting. Looking at it now it seems simple, but I'll never forget trying to figure out how this works for the first time with the two hours I was given. Even if a solution is simple, understanding it can be hard, especially if it seems like it should be hard.

Same problem with people hopping turnstyles in the 80's. They increased the severity of the punishment and lo behold the crime went down.
Re:Ten Rules for Negotiating a Job Offer on Sunday July 31, 2016 @07:38PM (#12199449)
Am I missing out if I don't try and negotiate higher salaries or raises? I usually feel like what I'm being offered is fair but then again I wonder if I'm being cheated out of money. Like they are offering something low expecting me to request something higher.

Where did you get your information on the danger of a crash with a tesla vs a regular car? They surpassed every car in collisions tests and the concerns about the battery going up in flames have been fixed since the car was established.

He got off easy, it's 60 years in the United States.
The real trick is breaking your goals down as small as possible. Then accomplishing those tasks building up to your ultimate goal. Most people fail or get frustrated/give-up because they define their goals in terms of end goals.
Aren't they pretty common already? There was a whole hook written about it.
