He's already got the willing-intern-finder.md skill locked and loaded
It's kind of funny to see how people here are reacting to the world they built when it finally comes to them
Among other things, if you become logged out of the device or it's reset you will no longer be able to login with an amazon account ( which is required ) to use the device
Re:Stripe Announces 14% Layoff on Thursday November 03, 2022 @08:32PM (#33460089)
I had some rough spots in 2008-2010 a good 3-4 month or so gap in steady employment and what I did get afterwards wasn't great but it was ok

I learned the importance of saving during the good times so I'm less worried now

but it would be foolish to pretend the growth of many was stunted during bad times

Re:TomTom announces new Maps Platform using OpenStreetMap on Wednesday November 02, 2022 @05:47PM (#33443343)
Yeah, in Chicago at least google maps tends to go into a panic attack, it's distracting and has nearly caused me a few accidents
IMO twitter has always been for losers
Are you sure it isn't the design of the GUIs in tools HNers have vague insights into?

Re:Google is shutting down Stadia on Thursday September 29, 2022 @06:44PM (#33028340)
Honestly they just didn't have any content due to their technology choices, I use GFN all the time because it has most of the games I want to play already

they put themselves in a position where they were stuck acting like a psudo-console-platform thing needing to get developers to support thier platform

Re:Google is shutting down Stadia on Thursday September 29, 2022 @03:47PM (#33026090)
They are still pulling off big projects and pivoting well though though steam proton/steamdeck which pivoted from the initial failures of the steambox push

they may not really be in the AAA game business as much but I'm not sure that's a bad thing

Re:Google is shutting down Stadia on Thursday September 29, 2022 @03:41PM (#33026012)
Eh, most people want to work for Google for the cash these days it's reflected in their hiring where they don't even know where they want to place people half the time
Re:Google is shutting down Stadia on Thursday September 29, 2022 @01:36PM (#33024325)
Or just offer steam keys
Re:Google is shutting down Stadia on Thursday September 29, 2022 @12:54PM (#33023516)

Re:Did Neanderthals make art? on Thursday September 22, 2022 @12:56PM (#32941573)
Serious question, why do we can about human art when we've got things like stable diffusion now? retro value?

I do my best during working hours and if it fails it fails -- the actual source of the problem can take the blame

Re:Crazy Thin ‘Deep Insert’ ATM Skimmers on Wednesday September 14, 2022 @08:03PM (#32845197)
personally I hate the idea of always needing a phone with me -- i leave mine at home most of the time just using my wallet and nfc transit card to get around
everything's possible it's hard for me to imagine how it would work in some sprawling places like texas eg. houston or austin

I could that happening new/growing suburbs outside of cities like that though like as you say if they commit to a sane design/zoning before it's to late

That would be nice but I don't see that happening outside of boutique cities like bentonville

you really need to start fresh or force it before hitting the inflection point

Where is the need to do that specified in the actual bill? https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtm...

the majority of the bill is restrictions on collecting personal information in general

I'm not sure most ecommerce sites would meet the criteria as something marketed and targeted at children

I agree that 'likely visited by children' is nebulous but this seems to be heavily aimed at live streaming/recording services(twitch, tiktok .. etc), large public social forums (discord) and things like youtube kids

reading the bill it seems fairly pro-privacy and generally contains things I'd imagine most folks want like limitations on collection childrens data, notifications if you're use is being monitored and controls over how childrens information is stored
