Is there a point to your question?
“ Regarding comments I'm seeing here saying Israel is an apartheid state or that Israel is racist or that Israel the concept of a Jewish state is disgusting”
Then later on says:
“Israel was not built by its founders to be a melting pot, it was built as a home for displaced Jewish people. It was not built to be a place of equality, and unfortunately, by its nature it cannot be one and continue to serve its purpose”
How does that make sense? How is this logically coherent?
Well its no different to showing you a pack of cards (i.e Israel is not a place of equality by their own omission).
And then making the entire pack of cards disappear (calling Israel is racist).
Granted OP does it in a different order.
Dude should be on Penn and Teller hes a goddamn magician.
By the laws it enacts and the oppression they enable, it is the definition of a racist state.
The world is beginning to see it too, though very slowly.

I would encourage you to read it before marking it as a “narrow view”. It is literally taking a broad view factoring in societal impacts. It is written by highly respected experts.
Alcohol absolutely has severe societal impacts: violence rates are positively correlated to rate of alcohol consumption; clogging up hospitals with self inflicted injuries, driving under the influence, health issues (liver damage), clogging up emergency departments on the weekend etc.
I mean I could literally go on. Of all the drugs alcohol really shouldn’t be as easily available as it is.
Personally I find the argument that it does “good” pretty wishy washy and more driven by societal bias toward it as an accepted medium for socialistion. Alternatives do exist.
I am looking to also go on a self study mathematical journey
Heading for lunch was also a sad affair as it was pretty much just me and my food watching the world go by.
What helped me was to get involved in societies etc. I found making a couple of friends easier after this (though i was still a little shy around women).
The key was to just be myself, not give a shit about what other people thought of me, and to try and enjoy each and every interaction with another human being. I think if you overthink how other people perceive you, it will make it harder for you to make friends. Simply dont give a shit and voice ur opinions (unless they're extreme and illegal)
Funnily enough, as I got older, I found I much prefer being alone and focusing on my own interests and personal development.
I now cannot be asked to go out socialising at the expense of my own insular interests.
Reason I mention the last point is that as hard and lonely university will seem right now, things will get better for you. You may find, like I did, that people are insufferable wretches best observed from a distance.
Picking and choosing examples that do not generalize to most investors does not refute his point.
I think its entirely reasonable given the size of the company.
I mean they have arbitration agreements which caused the abuse to get this bad, not the other way around.
Looking at the breakdown:

I dont see how it can be seen as anything but a humanitarian disaster
Do you know what the concept of Gentile[0]? It refers to a pretty clear distinction between a jew and non-jew.
Zionists have used this concept in the past to make a distinction between the "souls" of Jews and non-Jews. This has led to very discriminatory views towards minorities in Israel (just look at the polls/surveys for independent data).
This has led to a two-tier system in the minds of many Israelis, whereby they are the "chosen" people, and that Israel is their land, and their land only.
Now if you deny this to be case, explain why the treatment of Palestinians is so bad, that Israel blatantly violates international law to build settlements, and so on. I haven't seen any mass demonstrations in Israel against the government. Given Israel is a democracy, this must imply that a lot of people agree with this state of affairs, is it not?

I guess the only difference with the Israeli government is that the Israeli government manages to successfully avoid killing their own citizens.
Let's be real, they're both as bad as each other, just one side has a prettier face.
From what I have read and understood, it's primary focus is to resist the Zionists which repeatedly encroach on Palestinian land.
Imo, making a comparison to ISIS is a tad bit lazy given the historical buildup to the problems in Israel. Just because a bunch of guys have big beards and shout in Arabic doesn't really make them equivalent in their aims.
There was a study done by one of the large dating sites that showed 20% of male profiles get 80% of the matches.
Now, this skewed proportion does not obviously reflect real life. On dating apps a carefully curated, often fake persona can do well.
Personally I find dating apps in general to not be good places to find a partner at all. Ive had much more luck meeting women in the workplace or school etc.
If you are born a certain sex, you should compete in the same sex category provided you haven’t taken any substances to enhance performance. This would mean you are only using what your body naturally produces.
Theres a difference between trans-women and women.
To be clear, I am not claiming disadvantaged white folks don’t have it rough. However, my point is when we take folks from a similar socioeconomic background, being white does confer an advantages in a lot of cases (in western, white majority countries). I would say the majority of the disadvantages for working class whites is not due to their race. Whereas on the other hand, certain ethnicities do have disadvantages due to their precisely their race. Both are disadvantaged but for different reasons imho.
Personally if it were up to me, I would exclude poor working class whites from any notion of privilege as they clearly aren’t. I also think they need more representation in the work place (ie being included in diversity targets rather than excluded).
IMO we need a better term that’s more nuanced and can capture the disadvantages of these groups, but I dont know what that term would be.
For example, there have been a number of studies that show having a non-white sounding name during a cv screening process leads to far less callbacks, even if the remainder of the CV is identical. Is this not white privilege?
What about how the media treats different crimes. Take a look at the Daily Mail website, arguably the most popular UK tabloid and tell me it’s not designed to paint migrants and minorities in a negative light. For example, when there are acts of violence perpetrated in the name of islam, terrorism as a phrase is used frequently in the headlines. However when white nationalists do the same thing, the phrasing is completely different. Another example would be the coverage of the royals ie Kate vs Meghan.
Acknowledging white privilege doesn’t mean that those poor white folks in post industrial towns have it easy. It means that there are certain areas of society where being white does afford a privilege. It comes down to the tribal mentality at the end of the day. People still seem to like to favour people similar to them.
I mean, as an example, billionaires have access to top notch lawyers that lower their tax bill, look at Trump’s recent tax filings for example. Can you reasonably argue that they are not unfairly taking advantage of society, and by extension its people?
What about government lobbying etc. I mean the list goes on.
Personally I think PG just attacks the weakest form of the argument against his view. He obviously benefits from billionaires being created as he is an investor. Getting a large payout is literally the purpose of his job.
It appears to me people have repeatedly searched for a higher purpose that goes beyond their material situation. Hell its even true with those disconnected native tribes in south America drinking ayahuasca and achieving a higher spiritual purpose. It seems to be built into us to want to transcend our material desires once a certain level of sustenance is reached.
Personally, having been a money driven individual earlier in my life (with a high paying job in finance), I quickly realized beyond sustenance for basic needs, money meant little. The reason for this “enlightenment” for me was a serious health problem that made me reevaluate my finite life.
So I would wholeheartedly agree with the original post that money cannot buy your life meaning.
The goal of the investment bank is to work with the company to come up with a sensible valuation that will clear and pop on the IPO date. The bank has to take into account the market conditions and investor appetite when structuring the trade and setting the price. It is also why you hear of company’s pulling out of IPOs when market conditions are not favourable.
I don’t follow your point exactly, if the value of the asset is relative to the context it presents itself, and the price you set for the IPO is not consistent with the said context, then you are incorrectly valuing the asset. The asset can be under or overvalued.
For the record I have actually worked on IPOs at an investment bank structuring these kind of trades, so it’s not a pretense of knowledge on my part.
If the closing price is below the IPO that is generally regarded as a failure and may imply over-valuation.
