Re:Facebook confirms that it tracks mouse movements on Wednesday June 13, 2018 @05:54AM (#17301685)
I don't think it should be that difficult. Project for a weekend hackathon or so. Collect same mouse movement data with a js on your own website if you own anything mildly popular or partner with someone and buy it off, stick it into some off the shelf GAN, job's done. Turing test is broken by modern deep learning

At least the mouse movements themselves shouldn't be difficult to do given a source of data. Simulating that you click on same FB UI elements as real people with same statistical properties on other hand is where you might be lacking the data to do it properly

Re:Most Germans don’t buy their homes, they rent on Monday October 24, 2016 @04:38PM (#12782652)
>So in Germany, the interest on a mortgage is non tax deductible

Wrong reasoning. It's tax deductable in Switzerland and they rent even way more than the germans

That's what FreeCraft folks thought too

Any bets how long it'll take for a cease-and-desist letter from Blizzard for this one?

When that somebody earns 10k more, he'll pay 3948 CHF of taxes on those 10k => 39.48% marginal tax rate.

You forgot municipal tax, which is 119% of cantonal in Zürich. 40% tax rate that I was talking is marginal tax rate, i.e. from a certain and fairly low point the state will pocket 400 Fr in taxes out of every additional 1000 Fr of your income. And then there's 5.1% AHV and other social things on top...

11% in Zurich? Only at the lowest wages, like a cashier. The tax progression is steep and the rates quickly become comparable to other european countries. In Zurich marginal tax rate levels at about 40% pretty quickly for higher than average earner.
I've recently switched from Macbook Air 11", running Linux, to XPS 13. They are practically same size, XPS is a bit bulkier, its plastic attracts fingerpints like crazy unlike Mac's aluminium, and I absolutely hate it that Fn and Ctrl positions are swapped and there's absolutely no way to override that. But beside all this, it's a very nice machine technically and I'm quite happy with it.
I booted Linux in UEFI and Legacy mode on my XPS 13 9350, it works fine.

AHCI is not related to UEFI. It's a SATA disk controller mode and these laptops ship with new NVMe disks which use PCIe bus instead of SATA.
