Agreed, actually. It’s so sad to see because you can guarantee this person doesn’t actually know Trump personally and likely has no real stake in anything he does.

Completely nerfing your own ability to reason for what? Some presumedly virtuous signal?

Because “trying” to be different and actually being different are not the same thing

The counter-examples are so obvious it makes me feel that pointing them out wouldn’t actually help you understand reality

Not giving everyone equal % is exploitation?

Interesting, by that logic every participant in the economy should also be required to bail out any startup that fails otherwise we’re exploiting the founders! They’re taking all the risk and we’re getting all the benefit of the services and goods they create!

Do you think “work” means literally “manual labor”?
Zawinski’s Law in action
You’re significantly worse off assuming your government is adversarial than cooperative, regardless of what reality may be, and the majority of us know that. It’s why the chaos psyops aren’t working. We’re not happy with our government but apes together strong
Re:No evidence cannabis helps anxiety, depression, or PTSD on Saturday March 21, 2026 @05:43PM (#47471751)
These dismissals based on the source rather than the material are getting really annoying. We’re supposed to be intellectuals here, we can do better than that.
(Ad-hominem is not a counter-example btw)
You’ve never heard it before because explicitly signaling “I know basic set theory” is kind of cringy

Is the implication that they are in fact the same thing or that you don’t like Elon?

Internet points demand obscure references these days. My system prompt has its own area code

Suppose you've managed to get a job as an editor at Communications of the ACM. As "Editor, Communications of the ACM" what do you think your job is?
Re:US Cities Are Paying Too Much for New Transit Buses on Saturday September 27, 2025 @06:34PM (#45399923)
This may explain the phenomenon but it certainly doesn’t excuse it - just because something is natural doesn’t mean it’s smart or morally correct
Re:MCP: An (Accidentally) Universal Plugin System on Sunday June 29, 2025 @07:04AM (#44412113)
They’re not being paid, at least not directly. They don’t need to be. “Educational” “content” is a play to increase the personal profile as a “thought leader.” This turns into invitations to conferences and ultimately funnels into sales of courses and other financial opportunities
Amen brother
I think you’re misunderstanding. This product doesn’t make sense because the problem itself is not solvable under your given constraints.

“Your model has memorized all knowledge, how do you know it’s smart?”
I like to call this “lazy altruism”
Re:Ty: A fast Python type checker and language server on Thursday May 08, 2025 @06:49AM (#43924947)
Criticism isn’t necessarily condescending. “You should be doing x because y” is just a plain assertion, it doesn’t imply any moral judgement or opinion of the author.
Re:I'd rather read the prompt on Sunday May 04, 2025 @08:37PM (#43890882)
Universities do not provide knowledge, this is a romanticization of an ideal. They are about getting a passing grade and a certificate so that you can enter the workforce. The idea that you go to college to get an education is just a polite fiction to appease students and their parents
Re:Typed Lisp, a Primer on Sunday May 04, 2025 @08:27PM (#43890821)
This is not necessarily true, you can pretty easily implement just about any syntax you want
Are you asking for an example of control flow?
Please do elaborate, I can’t see anything else that would be a competitive advantage in a market full of capable computer engineers?
Fascinating.. I wonder how much of the economy runs on social proof
I wonder what the effects of an echo chamber in a forum like this would be.. maybe something similar to what Reddit has become
wait your competitive advantage is “human friction exists”?

…how do you justify marketing yourself in a system like that?

“In general, people in this vertical have difficulty doing their jobs. Luckily we’ve had drinks with most of them” ……

Oh I love the melody and harmony, it’s the guitar rhythm that kills me. It’s to the point that it feels random and as a fellow musician I cringe to even say that about someone’s playing because I know how intentional music is, especially the kind meant to sound like it’s not

It is indeed rotten, it’s a power struggle from the start. Power corrupts absolutely
Re:I Analyzed Chord Progressions in 680k Songs on Friday April 18, 2025 @01:11PM (#43729947)
Jeeze this song is hard to listen to.. it almost feels like intentional syncopation on the guitar part but I can’t imagine they would have left it in intentionally after hearing how grating it is against the drum groove
