I don't think that's unusual. In my country there isn't a fixed official list, but the law says you need to use an actual name (it can be a foreign one). If it seems too crazy it might be denied.
People here find it very strange (insane even) that in US you can name your child Apple, North West or X Æ A-Xii.
(I don't have a strong personal opinion on this.)
> I wonder why he stopped making youtube videos.
I've listened to plenty of podcast episodes with CGP Grey and he wasn't secretive about the fact that he does not really enjoy work that much. He also maintained that once he quits he won't make any announcements, but rather just silently disappear.
I assume he has decided that he has enough money and retired.
He (or someone else) is still changing the old video titles and thumbnails to optimise views, though. This particular video used to be called Humans need not apply.
You cannot mix billions in TC
But that lesson does not apply here.
What's the supposed lesson? To close the shop?
How much money do you think they are making? Because I really doubt this is peanuts to them.
Yes, leading How in title is always removed and often leads to worse titles.
I don't like these magical (unexpected) solutions.
Lighter is quite important in a macbook for plenty of users including me. Thinner not so much, but the overall decrease in size is welcome as well.
It would be useful. You do need to test on real devices but the vast majority of dev time I run the apps in simulator.
Yudkowsky might be extreme, but I believe he was always right claiming that the intelligence (when strong enough) absolutely cannot ever be contained.
So what, they still dropped at times. The claim was that they never drop prices.
Yes, I have another computer with a low res monitor for games.
Exactly, if anything these tools will give people options for more self expression, not less.
The point is that humans obviously have world models, just imperfect ones.
If you use a 27" 5K iMac its impossible to go to 32" at 4K. It looks terrible.
Wikipedia is a tertiary source. Its editors are parroting secondary sources. (No disrespect intended.) There's no reason why LLMs couldn't be good at that.
I would rather be worried about the quality of all the primary and secondary sources going forward.
Have more than 10px touch targets for voting. Don't make the ability to see downvoted comments dependent on user's eyesight and monitor. Order elements reasonably for screen readers (e.g. thread title first, actions after it). Add an ability to collapse subthread without having to return to the root comment (for its [-]).
For a website for tech people it is ironic how awful the hacker news UX and accessibility is…
Why have you stopped touching CSS then?
Holding price is not enough.
The situation in math is rapidly evolving. Don't see why it shouldn't eventually spill to other fields at least to a degree.
For me the key question is whether tens of millions of random unimportant websites were mass-hacked by AI agents creating sleeper botnets.
If you think so then express it clearly, I'm interested in those thoughts.

Apparently the challenge was dubious so I’m not sure what to draw from it in the end.
So what portion of the unpatched servers is pwned now? What's your guess?
Where do you get the two hours from? Did this attacker spend two hours on it, after 17 hours of others failing to break in?
> The fact that people are still in denial over this is crazy.
Maybe you misunderstand what I say.
Imagine the tens of millions of personal or small business websites running php. What's your guess, what portion of the unpatched ones is already pwned? Is it 1%? 5%? 15%? 50%? 95%?
What would you guess?
I believe this managed to prove something.
Namely that the vulnerability was not that easy to exploit, meaning that the myriads of servers that stayed unpatched during those initial days are probably not all members of botnets now. (Contrary to what the discourse might have made it seem like.)
Until they can match Falcon 9 launch costs (the internal ones, not what SpaceX sells it for) it will be very difficult to compete with Starlink.
