> However often the best way to handle grunt work is to write better abstractions, something AI sucks at.
If you checked out of ai in 2023 then this is true. It’s simply not true anymore. If you struggle then it’s a skill issue not an AI issue
> At the level of complexity I work at, it's (often) faster to just code it myself than to expect AI to converge on a result I like and then hand check it.
Would love an example because no one has ever been able to give a coding example that AI isn’t helpful for. I had one person on linked in try claim their undocumented audio hardware won’t work with ai but when we got ai to probe it and build docs it ended up solving a bunch of complex bugs they couldn’t fix.
No. You can absolutely build things with AI small or large and understand it. If you don’t understand it. Then you’re not caring about the output to begin with and not guiding it to build the solution you want.
People seem to ignore the fact that with MCP you can serve up the tools the user wants and has access to instead of a rest api doc specifying every endpoint and bloating the context.
Seems like a lot of people who aren’t very good remain skeptical.
I don’t like it. Structures responses really do not work well with LLMs at all. They are one of the biggest causes of issues with tool calling right now.
lol closed door voting is not democratic.
This is really clutching at straws to justify zigs existence.
That was guard rails in the harness. Not the model. We are talking about baking it into the model. Denying to do something is also very different to changing historical facts like China does.
Have you got examples of GPT/Claude/Grok influencing people?
Then sign up for X instead of circumventing it because you’re a woke leftist upset with Elon.
Why do the woke lefties on HN get so upset and downvote and flag.
Then sign up for X instead of circumventing it because you’re a woke leftist upset with Elon.
So you went from a bad product to a worse product? There’s good solutions out there and you’re like “nope don’t want a good solution. I want a worse solution.”
^ this is literally what the op did. Don’t flag facts.
Can we not post woke links on HN.
So you went from a bad product to a worse product? There’s good solutions out there and you’re like “nope don’t want a good solution. I want a worse solution.”
Sigh. This is the same old tiresome HN anti ai stuff. If you can’t see how he contradicted himself, and the follow on with anti ai reply to me. It just shows how little you know of ai.
There is no “uhm akshually there's a piece of dust” discussion. There is so much misinformation about ai that people make blanket assumptions like “it removes human interaction” “it replaces everyone” “look people got made redundant” when the reality is it doesn’t replace human interaction and the people being made redundant are all currently anti ai people.
You seem to contradict yourself.
You state “ignore these downsides” and “due to their own ignorance…”
Then you say “it replaces human interactions” which it absolutely does not. It seems the pro ai and anti ai crowd seem to have this misconception that humans are removed from the equation when the reality is the position has shifted.
The title doesn’t make me want to read it. It just sounds like anti ai rhetoric.
> I run. It's a bad smell for me.
The smell follows you but atleast we don’t have to smell it any more. Thank you.
Can’t go a day without propaganda on HN.
I can tell you haven’t. I lived in China for 8 years.
Are you still talking about China? Where they are denied food, shelter, healthcare? Or do you accept the CCPs word over the word of the people who show videos of what reality is like in China?
On one side you have people starving because they are forced to grow food which is effectively stolen and sold to enrich the party. People killed fr starvation, or by the party if you didn’t contribute enough, ate some, stole some. So the deaths are the direct result of the CCP.
Vs a study which suggests 183-300k where you take the high end and seem to read about the vast range of causes of which a lot are not very much attributable to poverty.
Maybe if they didn’t farm all the data from Claude to train their own trash models. Anthropic wouldn’t feel the need to do it.
People are not using sentry/raygun MCP to automate error fixing?
Pushing the goalpost to justify your classification.
For the benefit of any others. Bluebarbet has never been to Singapore and ultimately doesn’t know what he’s talking about. HDBs are not public housing. It’s land control because Singapore is so tiny.
If the criteria to be public housing is that someone manages the lifts, lights, and exterior. Then all apartment blocks are public housing. Condos and HDBs are all public housing.
I can say the same about your “contributions”
You can’t go calling things they are not.
