Re:The pneumatic tube mail system in New York City on Wednesday October 18, 2023 @08:14AM (#37927544)
I recently learned that Hamburg had a big tube system ("Großrohrpost"). The tube diameter was 45cm and the length of the wagons was 1,60m.

Some information in the German Wikipedia: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rohrpost_in_Hamburg#Gro%C3%9Fr...

Re:Google Alters Search Queries to Get at Your Wallet on Monday October 02, 2023 @02:35PM (#37742491)
According to this page [1], they do use external sources (Google, Mojeek, Yandex and more), but not Bing ;)

They also have their (two) own indexes.

Tbh, for me (as small town dev) it feels like magic how fast those different sources are combined, additionally with user search preferences like raising or blocking certain domains. Insides welcome :)

Reminds me of Hellvetica. Unfortunately, the website is gone, but the Internet Archive has saved us this gem:

There's wl-clipbord with the commands wl-copy and wl-paste: https://github.com/bugaevc/wl-clipboard

Works flawless in my experience.

Another keyboard for this use case is Unexpected Keyboard [1]. I opted for this one, because Hacker's Keyboard seems to be in maintenance mode (sure, not necessarily an issue, but see the warning in the readme [2]).

Re:Foot: A fast and minimalistic Wayland terminal emulator on Tuesday December 14, 2021 @06:22PM (#29559545)
The readme contains this section:

https://codeberg.org/dnkl/foot#user-content-configuration

There's also a template in the repo:

https://codeberg.org/dnkl/foot/src/branch/master/foot.ini

So, looks like one has to just set the font in the config file ;)
