if he was responsible for Home Depot's app, I can understand why it took him so long to find another job.
What's the advantage of this versus opening a Fidelity account and buying the same product?
just move to 2 hour in class writing blocks.
Even if you water fasted, you would not lose 5 lbs a week sustained. It was probably your first week and mostly water weight
users dont care if you took VC funding or not
Re:Tell HN: Google Authenticator lost all of my codes on Wednesday April 02, 2025 @07:48PM (#43563172)
How is that different than Google Authenticator backups?
they should also do a business postmortem, how did the exec greenlight this without livestreaming infrastructure in place?
“My” sounds scammy. Im assuming athenaai.com was taken? I would have done something like getathena.com or athenaapp.com
how about they help jumpstart the economy and hire engineers to fix the problem?

Except the whole point of college is that it's more than just education.
The days of free dialup internet with the advertising bar oh man

Re:Ask HN: Why doesn't Reddit give it's mod's a revenue cut on Wednesday June 21, 2023 @01:08AM (#36414611)
Mods are overrated, easily replaceable and do not contribute to Reddit's success.
Re:Ask HN: How to Get Software Based Business Ideas? on Sunday June 18, 2023 @11:33PM (#36387028)

Re:Ask HN: How should we compensate forum moderators? on Saturday June 17, 2023 @12:44AM (#36367359)
There's no need to compensate them when there's plenty of volunteers willing to do the work for free.

Also Reddit itself has a built in moderating system with the upvote/downvote system and the "new" section.

Mods highly overrate their contribution to reddit. The truth is the site will run fine whether they stay or get replaced and the mods know this.

Re:Ask HN: Are you going back to Reddit post-blackout? on Friday June 16, 2023 @12:39AM (#36351339)
this is the perfect example of mods going on a power trip.
Re:You are given 100M to launch new Reddit competitor on Sunday June 11, 2023 @03:13AM (#36279000)
Why buy Apollo when they have their own app? If they cut off Apollo's API access, users will have no choice but to use the official app.
Re:You are given 100M to launch new Reddit competitor on Sunday June 11, 2023 @03:12AM (#36278992)
I don't understand that guy's argument. So Apollo is costing Reddit 10 million due to their API traffic and he wants Reddit to pay Apollo 10 mil to stop it? How is that better than cutting off their access which would cost reddit zero dollars?
Re:Life Is Short (2016) on Sunday December 25, 2022 @04:48AM (#34125745)
Universal Basic income would solve those problems. Eventually AI and automation should perform all the mundane jobs which is a good thing but we need to provide basic sustenance for everyone.
Re:Ask HN: Should Startups Form as an LLC or C-Corp? on Friday November 20, 2015 @06:33AM (#10600713)
What about in-state vs Delaware LLC? Is it any easier to convert to a Delaware C-Corp if you started as a Delaware LLC?
Re:Ask HN: Routers that are secure out of the box? on Wednesday August 12, 2015 @05:41AM (#10046917)
That router doesn't include WiFi, so would you have to connect it to a second router that has it?
Re:Ask HN: Do you think Stripe will go public? on Tuesday June 02, 2015 @10:45PM (#9650266)
well there's actually some competitors coming up that's offering lower transaction fees. Forte.net is offering 2.15% + 25c per transaction. Mastercard has a competitor as well 2.85% + 30c
Migrate to DigitalOcean, you can probably keep the site on the $5 month plan.
