Re:The smartest Claude Code feature is not for its users on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @06:26PM (#49985026)
The user actual answer vs the user actual answer after seeing the suggested answer are different points of data
Re:Sonnet 5.5 on Monday September 28, 2026 @02:29PM (#49882333)
From the graph it looks like I'd rather use Opus 5.5 High than Sonnet 5.5 at all
Re:How to Write with an LLM on Thursday September 17, 2026 @07:29PM (#49748179)
The placement of the "Those rethinks are load-bearing parts of your voice" sentence in the article makes me think the author intended the word choice
Re:Reverse Engineering Unknown File Formats with ImHex on Wednesday September 02, 2026 @08:18PM (#49544385)
I tried to do a similar thing last year to datamine a gacha game's assets and somehow did it without knowing the existence of tools like IDA/Ghidra. They're using a custom db format that was XORed with a key. Iirc it was a bizarre format, it's actually an archive where each column is a file containing all the rows of that column. So a table is just a folder full of these files. Maybe it's a common thing idk. I got a partially working XOR key so I used ImHex to look at the partially decrypted db file and manually looked at the decrypted hex values to "correct" them.

I wish I read something like this article at that time!

Re:How Claude's text watermarking works on Friday August 14, 2026 @03:56PM (#49303812)
That will likely make the text output worse and you'll have to fix it yourself. Regardless even if you don't fix it, at that point you're not really using Claude to generate the final output anymore.

Determining whether it's written by Claude will be possible in the future. But unless you know the LLM being used and the company behind that LLM offers a similar API, there's no easy way to tell if it's AI generated in general.

Re:I Hate Compilers on Thursday June 18, 2026 @04:27PM (#48591060)
"One of the easiest"

It's meant to be a trivial counterexample. Like saying "-1" to the claim "there's no number smaller than 0" to someone who's not familiar with math, the author is saying "build-dependent macros" to the claim "compilers are deterministic" to someone who might not be familiar with compilers.

Re:A Trillion Characters on Friday May 29, 2026 @08:30PM (#48331102)
The idea of "Place but text only" seems too obvious in hindsight but somehow this os the first one I've seen. Works really well, kudos to the creator.

The next step would then be another clone of this but with a text representation of the world map as the starting point. Call it wfastserial or something

Resource Hacker?

I will say that the title is the best part

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galileo_Galilei#Name

Surnames are optional in Italy at that time. Galileo is how he refers to himself and how people refer to him.

"this attempted spin/gaslighting"

i.e. he worries that OpenAI employees could also be gaslighted by Altman

Not sure if you already replied to a similar question but regarding this quote

> the actual server storing my data is currently https://morel.us-east.host.bsky.network. I’m happy to keep hosting it there but I’m thinking of moving it to a host I control in the future

Is the process of moving hosts documented somewhere?

Re:Amazon Vega OS and Vega Developer Tools on Saturday October 04, 2025 @04:21AM (#45471664)
I don't think it runs APKs. They'd probably market that feature more prominently if it were the case. They have their own format called VPKG.

https://developer.amazon.com/docs/vega/0.21/app-submission.h... "You must have a VPKG file available as an app binary."
