This is my kids too, life finds a way. I've blocked Youtube, and yet I discovered they are watching their favourite Youtube creators via Spotify.

+1 I used this style to version bump, and wish the article gave suggestions on working alternatives.
Lately I use CalVer instead of SemVer, so it hasn't been an issue. I like the idea of smart auto-bump for versions.

Not related to SSH, but does the eieio.games website make anyone else's monitor flicker? When the website is fullscreen it overwhelms something. I thought my monitor's backlight was going.

Awesome! Great job.
I read this as first QUIC CDN, and thought that can't be true. Dug a little deeper and learned that Media over QUIC is it's own thing. Looks pretty cool.

There is a "post-invocation phase" for tidying up. It's not long, and it's enough for things like Datadog's metrics plugin to send off some numbers. Yet it will fail, if you have too many metrics. It's fuzzy.
Re:The Claude Bliss Attractor
on Friday June 13, 2025 @05:00PM (#44272198)
Claude's increasing euphoria as a conversation goes can mislead me. I'll be exploring trade offs, and I'll introduce some novel ideas. Claude will use such enthusiasm that it will convince me that we're onto something. I'll be excited, and feed the idea back to a new conversation with Claude. It'll remind me that the idea makes risky trade offs, and would be better solved by with a simple solution. Try it out.

The author doesn't mention it, but many people who never played E.T. read articles in videogame magazines about this game was amongst the things that killed the videogame industry in the 80s. (Oh, see dang's post for tons of related links)

I love that NAT gateway and Cloudformation+CDK+Proton are on this list. I've spent the last 3 years building with these tools, and these are some of the most frustrating things in our stack. Our NAT gateway costs are gross. We pay to have the ability to send traffic, but we don't use it enough for that price. Meanwhile, CDK hid the awkwardness of Cloudformation from us for awhile, now we're too tangled to easily leave it.
