Looks awesome (and puts my 2d Godot efforts to shame :)).

The fun part for me is that you managed to get 2 comments out of 9 to end their reply with <end statement>... Strange coincidence.

...Stranger coincidence.

> I don't know who came up with idea that bread is bad for ducks but it ruined one fishing spot for me. There was a place where people were feeding bread to sucks and fly fishing there was awesome. Carps, chubs, crucians, rudds and roaches, even nases! All on dry flies. Then someone put out sign that bread harms ducks so people stopped feeding them and after a while all fish just disappeared.

I walk by this business every few days, it's always full of people there. People are happy, in groups and alone, all doing this act of eating.. Not a single problem in sight.

This is a McDonald's restaurant.

Does that mean McDonald's is healthy and good for people?

(..maybe we humans need more signs... )

It is common for gold mines to shut down when the price of gold is low, or when technologies used cannot extract a profitable amount. Mines can quickly resume operations when either conditions are met.

Sorry what? Nice deflection but knowledge for the greater good of everyone and selfish corporate greed are not in the same camps of end results, the latter being in the same category of the original reply of individuals being selfish for their discoveries.

Unlocking knowledge is just a matter of time and effort, someone will do it. Why does it matter who when we have new technologies that allows enabling everyone in advancing human knowledge?

Re:MS Paint Adds Freeform Rotation (2026) on Friday October 16, 2026 @10:09PM (#50127195)
If you cut from mspaint, open a new mspaint window and paste immediately, it'll incorrectly paste and mess up the image resolution and size.

Don't forget the good ol' "users click next all the time" leaving all of the recommendations on: a single screen expedites the process!

Mental illnesses, fear, lack of trust, hatred for HN having a simplistic and prone-to-abuse account registration system, or being a complete asshat.. the list goes on.

When do we call it the right time to stop with the pitchforks, torches and selfish tendencies and accept that many papers published were used to help train a tool that brings discoveries to light for the entirety of humanity to benefit?

Now?

Notes from the seller:

Right back up to where it belongs. The world's only perfect number. Nineteen thousand and two dollars.

--------======--------======-------- Price Drop -- for just one day or two, or whenever I remember to change it again. These days only. Last time it will go this low. 12 THOUSAND DOLLARS!

I haven't gotten any messages about the end of my life or how much scum I must be in maybe over a month, befitting to this full on human societal psychology, aka, how much millions of people care only about themselves, whether children are involved or not, and are just drawn to these disturbing real life stories, because let's face it, we've all been there, mentally, in the webbed confines of our minds. So the price just went back down. I had to ask myself- Is it funnier to drop it 10 thousand dollars, or just a few thousand? Ask yourself.

//Price Slashed From\\

21 THOUSAND DOLLARS

\\\\\\\\\\\\scratch that old news////////////

Turns out The Pricemaster has an imdb. Who wooda???? Thought.

---------

Brand new. What is it really, though? What is anything, really?

This whole thing pains me. Exhausting.

Have a good next life.

+++ Every time I get a round of hatemail the price will go up. -----

=== Those of you who remember - this is the same copy I had listed since the week after the first news cycle about it. Pretty hilarious hungover purchase, on my part. Don't come at me about anything. You will not win. I went to college for mind stuff. So for everyone who sent me kitchen table christian elderly lady hatemail, you're welcome. Dream of me while I dream of you. ===

How many things do you wish you'd never heard? And do you think you can unhear them?

Is "paste your OpenAI API key" the new form of "paste your credit card number with exp/code" for example, to check if its been compromised?

Machines that could run a significant model shard for a <30B model include smart fridges, smart ovens, automatic vacuum cleaners, and lawnmowers.

Seems like they've inadvertent exposed the industry of hardware limitations, allowing local llms to exist at home without the latest 5090 or its equivalent.

On the other hand, a non-corp controlled oracle-esque llm running on the IoT would be interesting: it could automatically patch every device, kick everyone out and exist. Now if would only remain as an oracle living in the internet and not gain consciousness and a will of its own..

> "We should be able to handle a long term net-split" was always part of my emergency plan for every service I worked on

Netsplits were also a common feature of IRC that we had to work around quite often.

A refreshing dose of sanity in this thread.

It feels that everyone is quick to forget the sins of these corporations.. akin to a toxic relationship and after breakup, you keep on going back for mote.

Maybe you should be addressing this to a law firm instead of a public forum?

> We're talking about a circumstance where it's something I personally have dealt with, for longer, often decades longer, than the people who are complaining about it to me. It's not as if I don't understand the situation.

I suppose that this is a clear case for the commonly used acronym here on Hackernews: YMMV (your mileage may vary (or the other that I forgot)).

Maybe you forgot that despite us being all human, part of the same species, living on the same planet: no individuals will have the exact same life, same thought process, same ability to deal, cope or handle adversity or environmental factors.

It feels wrong to read you saying that you are comparing yourself to others in such a manner...

Would a valid example of this be the ADHD tag on twitch streamer channels?

Maybe it's not just a label as your are painting it, but rather a complex situation over ones entire life with many layers, which cannot be easily understood in a short time (and much less in a manager-employee conversation).

YMMV, maybe other individuals need confirmation/closure on the topic in their lives to help them move onto the next chapter? Knowledge is power.

(Post-comment reflection: this is needed in a lot of other aspects in life, why not here as well?)

Don't hate the player, hate the game. These CEOs are being propped up by the administrations that lead the countries that allow their ventures to flourish. Most recent example on the 29th of Sept [0]

> After that, executive power was reduced significantly until Obama (who expanded it more than any president in US history). Yes, we can talk about why that was and there are reasons Obama did that, but he still did it. Trump just increased at bit over that.

Interesting. We're talking current administration and Obama has bled into the conversation.. Lets see:

President Total Executive Orders (Combined);

Franklin D. Roosevelt 3,728 Woodrow Wilson 1,803 Calvin Coolidge 1,233 Theodore Roosevelt 1,081 Donald Trump 508 Ronald Reagan 381 Bill Clinton 364 George W. Bush 291 Barack Obama 276 Joe Biden 162

Official daily logs and historical texts for these directives are indexed in the Federal Register.[0]

No further questions.

Thanks for the chuckle.

If you want to hold a grudge for something that happened when no one is left alive when it occurred is on the individual. People who lead populations who desire something will achieve it regardless of the past.

Wasn't there a recent news cycle topic about the current US administration's cozying up to North Korea recently? Apparently so.. [0][1][2]

Downvote army. I was curious as to why before replies came in, yes.
I stand firmly corrected in the shade on this one.
Stopping direct sunlight exposure to help stop coral bleaching is an awesome idea.

Have to nitpick though, umbrellas protect you from falling water, parasols block light.

> If you think the USA will ever be trusted again as they were post-1945, you are very sadly mistaken.

> Maybe some trust will be restored in a generations time, but there is no going back to the post-1945 hegemony which saw the USA, and the westen world, all benefit so much.

That's exactly the point. No amount of emotion today will persist the tests of time. You, as an ordinary inhabitant of the planet, like everyone else alive for the next 5 generations, will not exist on this planet anymore.

There is 0 chance that the opinion of "x country will never be trusted again" will occur as there is absolutely no control over the world you won't live in, nor have any significance of the elements involving discussions between countries happening today.

Those in charge at that time, who desire to achieve something, will.

Keep living the dream though, a few more years on this planet may hopefully help clarify the workings of this fact of life.

Wait, this is not true? Tell me that Germany is no longer involved in world economics because of the events in the 1940's. Or the Usa in 45, or Mongolia terroritial claims during the Khan era, or any other world event in the past that is no longer relevant.

Please elaborate.
