I find it very interesting that your comment was down-voted.
I had never heard of this until now, thanks!

Now the tougher question, what can we do about it?

Re:Ad blocking is under attack on Friday August 11, 2017 @12:36PM (#14991589)
This is crazy, how can a link be a violation of the DMCA?
Re:Web Assembly Working Group Charter Approved on Friday August 04, 2017 @09:31AM (#14928498)
Come on, don't downvote him just because you disagree with his opinion.

That is only discouraging people from expressing their opinions.

Wow thanks man! This can be useful in a variety of circumstances!
From TFA:

The cancellation means there are just two new nuclear units being built in the country — both in Georgia — while more than a dozen older nuclear plants are being retired in the face of low natural gas prices.

So what is going to happen when gas prices skyrocket?

I don't think they accept bitcoins at the Venezuelan black market

I would continue this discussion, but I've gotten a ton of downvotes for both of my comments, so it seems people would rather not have this discussion continue :(

EDIT: Thank you whoever took pity and upvoted my previous comments. Everything I say is in good humor, I'm not trying to detract from the conversation about AI.

Re:Risks of Artificial Intelligence on Monday July 31, 2017 @12:17PM (#14893267)
A fair question, but Terminator™ is germane to the subject matter.
Re:Risks of Artificial Intelligence on Monday July 31, 2017 @12:06PM (#14893156)
The public doesn't take this stuff seriously enough.

Did we not learn the lesson about rogue AI from Terminator™?

The anxiety is killing me without being in medical school. Cancer is the worst.

So THIS is why they developed GVFS.
What could they possibly be thinking?

Nobody wants this, except the gov't.

The Great Firewall of China, of course.

What about Brainfuck?
Re:Wrapping up Java 9 new Features on Friday May 12, 2017 @09:58AM (#14323972)
Don't let Eclipse give you a bad impression of OSGi.

There are now some very cool things that make starting a new OSGi project a lot easier:

* Declarative Services, for simplifying Component definitions (No more editing XML)

* bnd / bndtools for building your OSGified jar (No more manually editing the Manifest)

Selling out your constituents isn't a part of conservative or liberal philosophy, just corrupt politicians.

And the Republican party have become the moderate party, there is no truly conservative party anymore.

Ok, but do you think JPMS is a better alternative?
Re:Wrapping up Java 9 new Features on Thursday May 04, 2017 @01:36PM (#14266902)
I second this. Java needs default parameter values.
Re:Wrapping up Java 9 new Features on Thursday May 04, 2017 @11:47AM (#14265726)
They are going to use it to represent lambda parameters.

Re:Wrapping up Java 9 new Features on Thursday May 04, 2017 @11:41AM (#14265665)
Why didn't they just use OSGi, a stable, mature (16+ years old) technology for modularity, instead of re-inventing the wheel with JPMS?
How can they patent this? It's been occurring naturally for millennia.
Unfortunately this is true.

Massive wealth disparity has created different classes of people, including an Elite class, the wealthiest, who are treated like royalty.

So why isn't the FBI knocking at Bill Gates' door, for facilitating hacking, spyware and botnets with the Windows Operating System?
Re:The Arrival of AI on Wednesday March 29, 2017 @02:29PM (#13989174)
It seems that so many people have become complacent in working 8 hours a day, 5+ days a week.

When an idea comes along that threatens this paradigm, the FUD Machine gets to work.

Maybe people weren't meant to spend such large amounts of their time on "work"?

Just an exposé of Corrupt Bureaucracy.
Re:Senate Guts Privacy Rules. Will House Follow Suit? on Saturday March 25, 2017 @08:51AM (#13955381)
Yes, their disregard for privacy stems from the last 8 years of unchecked warrantless wiretapping, Snowden revelations, etc.
You can get to that "make life worth living" caveat after death is cured.
Re:Senate Guts Privacy Rules. Will House Follow Suit? on Friday March 24, 2017 @04:58PM (#13952176)
What a bunch of sell-out traitors.

Is there no party that values privacy, individual liberty, or the constitution?

I thought these "Senators" took an oath to protect the constitution. From the way they vote, it seems they never even read it!

Re:Senate Guts Privacy Rules. Will House Follow Suit? on Friday March 24, 2017 @04:56PM (#13952168)
Only if you use Tor, but then they will go after that with some excuse (predators, illegal content, terrorism, take your pick).
