That sounds much less simple than an unblocker script like this. ;)
Re:Germany is turning on its monster stellarator on Monday November 02, 2015 @09:37AM (#10491974)
Whats wrong with its GDP? The PPP per capita is right around Sweden, a little above average for a first world country. Why should it be higher?

I agree that internet should be much better than it currently is though, yet still far from bad. Australias internet made me really sad when lived there... maybe everything feels good in comparison to that.

"but I really didn't mean to harm people"

More like didn't mean to get caught. Terrible person.

And their map suggests that poland is in the middle of russia. What the hell.
Re:Square Raises $150M at a $6B Valuation on Monday October 06, 2014 @04:00AM (#8414760)
That couldnt be more incorrect, from my own experience at least where i live.
Re:Write every day on Monday September 22, 2014 @09:34AM (#8350466)
Everyone is different. Most people don't feel the need to be productive and improve every hour of every day.

My co-workers are all nice and fun people, I enjoy working my 7-8 hours a day. But when i get home I don't want to keep working, learning new work-related skills and such, I haven't contributed to open source projects since I started where I'm working now.

I couldn't be more happy about how separate my work and non-work life is, I have a ton of fun with my own hobbies during my free time and have no stress whatsoever. If you are very ambitious and have large goals, of course you do have to work hard for it though. That goes without saying.

Re:How Norway has avoided the 'curse of oil' on Tuesday August 26, 2014 @06:31AM (#8226437)
There is no law which bans it. Just an agreement among several countries which Norway isn't a part of as far as I know.
Re:How Norway has avoided the 'curse of oil' on Tuesday August 26, 2014 @06:06AM (#8226382)
That's just sensationalist clickbait. The whale species hunted are not endangered and there is no ban on hunting these whales. There are many species of creatures which actually are and which you should spend more time caring about though. These whales are not among them.
Re:Today is The Day We Fight Back on Tuesday February 11, 2014 @07:34AM (#7217266)
Thats what it seems like to me too. Can someone explain how this is not just another slacktivism thing? Hashtags and banners on a website...
Re:Ask HN: What else besides writing code or managing people? on Monday February 03, 2014 @05:33AM (#7169859)
"passion never fails"... you are being incredibly optimistic and have heard way too many success stories i think. There's a massive amount of passionate people working incredibly hard for many years straight who haven't achieved even medium amount of success.
Re: 92 Facebook Apps Have Access To My Account on Thursday January 02, 2014 @08:57AM (#6999575)
0 have access to my facebook, how disappointingly satisfying.
Please explain why you seem to think that this is less private than not showing images.
Re:China Bans Financial Companies From Bitcoin Transactions on Thursday December 05, 2013 @06:15AM (#6853809)
Apparently not... not yet at least, still going down :p
Re:Sweden closes four prisons as number of inmates plummets on Tuesday November 12, 2013 @06:58AM (#6717232)
Just because crime is up doesnt mean crimes that you go for prison for are up. Especially since they have become way more lenient with the sentences the past years.
Re:Google in 1998 on Thursday September 26, 2013 @07:38AM (#6450054)
You cant be serious. I mean, it's nice that duckduckgo tries, but compared to google their "innovation" is basically non-existent. The amount of special cases and functionality google has added to their search engine the past couple years is massive[1]. They have become just fantastic at giving the user what they were searching for right away without even having to click on a link [2]. The use of space by google is so far ahead of DDG it's not even fair.

That which i have mentioned doesn't even touch the search algorithm itself, which I probably don't even have to say anything about because it's common knowledge how far ahead google is in that aspect too, not to mention all the search related settings you can configure if you have a google account, which also are quite massive.

Competition is good, but at this point there is no competition yet.

Re:Spain raises age of consent from 13 to 16 on Friday September 06, 2013 @07:04AM (#6339731)
Sexual predators could easily seduce 16-20 (hell, even higher) too. Why not increase the age of consent even more if you're going by with that argument.
Re:Spain raises age of consent from 13 to 16 on Friday September 06, 2013 @06:46AM (#6339654)
What would we gain by raising the age of consent?

Re:Ditch Your Passwords? US Gov To Issue Secure Online IDs on Wednesday August 21, 2013 @10:17AM (#6250412)
The java applet version isnt used anymore (or shouldnt be at least). The one that we have now is great and i haven't had any problems for many years actually. It works on all browsers ive used. What youre saying is very outdated i would say.
http://10minutemail.com/

is what i use, much simpler.

Re:I cannot afford to go back to engineering school on Thursday August 08, 2013 @03:36AM (#6177732)
In a lot of first world countries people get PAID to go to university. Expecting 17-18 year old's who finished high school to have tens of thousands of dollars to be able to go to good universities is beyond stupid.
Re:Ads in Gmail displayed as normal emails? on Friday July 19, 2013 @06:09AM (#6069222)
The tabs are nice and all. But is there a way to have both the tabs and a button so i can see all emails at once in 1 tab? Been clicking around with no success.

Did all car manufacturers try to get a $500 million loan to build electric cars?
Re:Korean Beauty Contestants – Face Morphing on Saturday April 27, 2013 @06:31PM (#5619286)
Even with caked makeup and extremely photoshopped pictures they dont even look that similar.
That one is much more convincing than the one in OP.
On the 2nd picture he has sunglasses, but not on the 1st or 3rd...? Completely different guy ?
