You watch too much social media shit. People just don’t want to have children.

And in a 2024 Pew survey, among childless adults under 50 who considered themselves unlikely ever to have children:

Didn't want children - 57%

Couldn't afford children - 36%

It is. And I’m not even an advanced Vim user.

For me it’s not so much about speed as about comfort. Jumping into VISUAL and selecting something in a block, yanking the line, jumping pages, editors, searching within the file, filtering, sorting. And the most important part is that because it is so old and widespread there’s pretty much vim mode for any editor so I can use the same shortcuts between vim, VScode, IntelliJ, etc.

Genocide is when you fixate on migrants?
Goomba.
Is that why USSR is a food for worms and the West still standing?
Re:Postgres 19 is late, and it's AI's fault on Monday November 02, 2026 @03:15AM (#50334291)
> The short answer is that LLMs happened. All software contains bugs, and PostgreSQL’s code base is large, complex, and old. Our git history – converted from CVS – now reaches back more than 30 years, and the first code was written a decade before that. There’s a huge amount of code, and that code contains a huge number of bugs. That’s always been true, and it hasn’t stopped PostgreSQL from being popular or successful. What’s different now is that it’s become vastly easier to find those bugs. Fixing them has also gotten easier, but not to the same degree.

LLMs are a gimmick, btw. This is an Anthropic marketing stunt, how much did they pay you? /s

This is the way.
It’s the most obvious conclusion, once you start using LLMs. There’s no grand conspiracy here

What is even your point?

Poland? Baltics?
With how shit their software is, it would be better if even if monkey pooped and smudged it on a screen.
Yeah, because humans existed for only 60 years.

Duo is a great idea. The only reason foldables suck right now is because foldable screens are a plastic joke.

No other language came even close to a combination of easiness and expressivity of Python.

We won’t share the benefits, of course. But trust me, bro, they’re Hugh Mongus.

What a shortsighted and ignorant statement, but not unexpected.
No, not at all. You can count on one hand quality games released recently.

It is the first one that "just works".

You can’t write something like that and then follow up with

You mean Microsoft, Yahoo, and Google?
Nothing normal about gambling.

I meant relative to C#, not shell.

I don’t think anyone knows what do. Otherwise the war wouldn’t last longer than WW1.

Okay, you might be two-three layers higher than me.

Boomers are 62-80 years old. Where do you work with an average age like that?

Hey, it’s our new VP.
Re:Tsrs: A Port of TypeScript to Rust on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @03:25PM (#50171407)
Why are bringing Java into this?
Re:Tsrs: A Port of TypeScript to Rust on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @03:24PM (#50171395)
No, but I sure wouldn’t mind if I opened my fridge and the food was already there.
Re:Advanced coding in low-resource programming languages on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @03:21PM (#50171367)

Because you don’t have an infrastructure to test all platforms and want to actually execute your code instead of waiting a decade until compiler is done?

Re:Advanced coding in low-resource programming languages on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @03:20PM (#50171342)
As it should be. Foundational principles between languages are the same, I don’t understand why positions are gatekeeped based on implementation trivia.
