Money printing does not cause inflation equally especially if not distrubuted so.

I'd say dancing alone while everyone else watches can be a high status thing. Think Tom Cruise in tropic thunder, he was the only one dancing was he low status?

If that was true it wouldn't be illegal to sell them.

That was 51 years ago at about a trillion spent a year since. Have any examples from the 21st century? Keep in mind they also essentially lost every war they fought during that time as well.
The book about how the media covered up the president's decline?

The types available over the counter are unsafe for long term use and frankly worse in every way compared to the one you need a doctors permission to purchase.

You need a established relationship to access one click refill and telehealth, they will tell you to come in after a time.

In Europe you can just buy those sort of things outright in many cases. Things like inhalers can just be had without getting a doctor on board.

I believe it's a uniquely US thing where the doctor needs to collect a well visit fee on you treating yourself for a common or chronic illness.

"You still have asthma? OK, here is permission from my caste to breathe, pay the fee on your way out." Is bonkers when you think about it.

Call in on a second line and ask when you will be taken off hold.
He was already on house arrest and was going to be free of that by 2026.

The willingness to take the optics hit to allow him a little more freedom, a little earlier makes me question what everyone else is leadership is doing, they must really relate to him.

"There but for the grace of God go I"

Judges in PA were just selling kids to private prisons.

"Ciavarella disposed thousands of children to extended stays in youth centers for offenses as trivial as mocking an assistant principal on Myspace or trespassing in a vacant building.[3] After a judge rejected an initial plea agreement in 2009,[4][5] a federal grand jury returned a 48-count indictment.[6] In 2010, Conahan pleaded guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy and was sentenced to 17.5 years in federal prison.[7] Ciavarella opted to go to trial the following year. He was convicted on 12 of 39 counts and sentenced to 28 years in federal prison.[8] Conahan, who had been released to home confinement in 2020, had his sentence (due to end in 2026) commuted in 2024 by President Joe Biden."

I think the best interview question, and really the only one you need to determine technical ability is ask someone to describe a http request in as much detail as possible.

To write code (even with the benefit of AI) effectively you need a mental model of the systems you work with, reading the chatGPT response doesn't prove you have that.

The Chinese can impose their own consequences, I'm not opposed to it.

However, this is serious stuff, if accountability must be off the table we aren't ready as a civilization to mess with it. NIH did this under a "enhanced oversight" regime, the overseers need to be removed to start.

The Wuhan Institute of Virology and it's gain of function work that made coronaviruses more infectious was funded by the NIH.
"This thing is expensive and it barely works"

A nation? Or a economic zone?

A people? Or a population of foreign guest workers?

Then you are wasting runtime clock cycles randomizing lists.
Re:Python's new t-strings on Monday April 21, 2025 @10:26AM (#43752395)

    from string.templatelib import Template

    def execute(query: Template)
Should allow for static analysis to prevent this issue if you run mypy as part of your pr process.

That would be in addition to doing any runtime checks.

Same amount (weight? volume?) or same calories?

A low fat salad will fill you up longer than either of those options due to the larger volume in my experience.

That 60% figure would have to depend on a unknown denominator so I dont understand how it would be said so authoritatively. 60% of known undocumented immigrants is the best it could be.
Joe Biden put a 100% tarrif on electric vehicles from China already so even removing the new tarrifs would have little effect without also rolling back that one as well.

It was 4.9 in the 50's. Projected to be 1.8 by 2100.

2.1 is considered to be replacement level.

The parts of the world that hold this number up don't produce people productive enough to support the social programs elderly people rely on in the west.

I've never heard of someone without your social security number having the ability to do anything to your credit.
I lost less time to bluescreens than I have to forced updates and sidestepping value add nonsense like one drive, edge.

20% used to be considered a high margin business, like luxury vehicles. That's a shockingly high margin in food.
Re:How AI is creating a rift at McKinsey, Bain, and BCG on Tuesday April 01, 2025 @08:46PM (#43552728)
Take a look at publicly traded companies post pandemic to see this effect.

Take McDonalds for an example, they are running around 30% margins and you see on social media customers complaining about prices.

Why don't those customers seek an alternative business?

The rest of them also follow pricing "best practices" so you have no where to run to.

You own a store that has a reputation for being dirty. People make memes about it, have for decades.

Firing the cleaners and replacing them is proportional and reasonable response. You might be able to reform them but frankly it getting this bad in the first place is a sign reform isn't going to work.

If they were the solution there wouldn't be a problem.

The craft is the result, not the process.
