No. If he was hired some other guy would've not been hired. It would not affect number of positions which were filled.
it's difficult to even treat it as an ordered relation when your luck depends on specific questions and the mood of the interviewer.
One more level of isolation can't hurt for PHP.
I thought Railpass must be be a new vulnerability in Rails.
You're either a low T man or a woman.
"greeks invented sex but romans introduced women to it" aah argument.
From 4chan:
People who can't defend themselves physically (women and low T men) parse information through a consensus filter as a safety mechanism. They literally do not ask "is this true", they ask "will others be OK with me thinking this is true". This makes them very malleable to brute force manufactured consensus; if every screen they look at says the same thing they will adopt that position because their brain interprets it as everyone in the tribe believing it. Only high T alpha males and aneurotypical people (hey autists!) are actually free to parse new information with an objective "is this true?" filter.
> Two-bit salary, 3 bits of entropy
Brutal but sad
> If I had to battle 2 hours of Indian traffic just to reach office
The company could have their office in a less congested area. The company could've given work-from-home option. The employee could've rented home near to the office. The employee could've got a cab. All Indian problems are self inflicted. Why should every company have it's office in "Bellandur" and "Marathalli"? In a self-respecting civilization, a professional earning in top 5% of the population wouldn't even want to step into such slums.
In any case, the reluctance to do proper automation and testing stems from pure lack of knowledge of good practices and hubris. Because it's going to increase velocity compared to not doing it.
> This is also racists.
Just noting an observation. These are not outsourcing agencies but GCCs of American and European companies. They had complete option to automate things or fix security defects. They simply didn't know what they were doing was wrong.
I don't mean to imply all Indians are incompetent. There was significant contribution from India to computer science. It's just that the ratio of competent to incompetent people is low. This is on your education and hiring systems.
Nobody likes Sundar at Google. Rest of the Indian CEOs (IBM, Adobe) are unremarkable bean counters. Satya is defensible but it can be argued the stage for his success was set during Balmer. (Dan Luu wrote about this).
Keep coping and never improve.
The charitable interpretation is a company whose operations they have no idea about due to distance.
You seem to have an axe against current Indian regime which is not even outside the overton window. I suggest to not get your information from liberal-arts educated islamophile journalists who are struggling to pay off their loans.
This is generally how Indian managers do damage control. Don't trust a single word. Even my Indian manager told me to not trust Indian managers.
IME the number of manual processes which are bug-prone and faulty in Indian teams is higher than normal, and so is the reluctance to any form of automated testing, and general unawareness about any security or licensing concerns.
HR approved "uncomfortable" truths.
Human biodiversity / inheritability of IQ; men and women have different strengths and weaknesses; anything against DEI and illegal immigration;
This kind of things are freely discussed only in places labelled "alt-right" because every other place is hostile to these truths.
But as a consequnece, the other side of the bell curve also appears in these discussions.
Soon anything against Rust will also join that list of politically incorrect truths. As you see this comment got flagged: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49929899
Not even data race safe then. NGMI.
> Summary: "The root password of the cluster can be reset unconditionally"
But what matters is that it was all memory safe and had no data races.
Y'all are going to cause some big disasters
Y'all building the same thing.
Infra folks can absolutely build self-service UIs and I have seen it being done even before AI, for instance using low-code tools.
You two are talking past each other. At a lower level LLMs can write better code than humans. At the architectural level they make a mess.
Slopped page. Apparently the target audience doesn't mind. Every sentence feels like a bland attempt at a punch lines rather than communicating something. Expected better from jetbeans.
LLM are very eager to declare full compliance and 3x 5x 9x on some benchmarks. I can't trust anyone on it, especially since people don't even verify these things by hand.
It feels like it's trying to sell you something in every sentence.
I hope this never happens and claude/openai retains its idiosyncratic writing style. That way it's easy to spot "grifters". It's also a signal that the fine details (like entire sentences) may be wrong since a clanker with no context wrote it.
If I don't invoke the serverless for a whole day, I don't have to pay for it.
Irony is that it's most useful for hobby projects. In production I'd not use it.
> now I'm having a ball freelancing despite being a veritable cave-dweller.
Can you tell more about what is your freelance work about?
Implementing AI solutions for companies?
And how do you get freelance clients?
They would be right to utilise their intelligence to dismantle the society which no longer values then.
