There is work[1] to address focal issues, and obviously resolution will continue to get better. I notice the focal issues in VR racing sims when I glance between my mirrors and back to the track, you expect a shift in focal length and it hurts your brain when there is none.

I'm still excited to see where HMDs get to in the next 5-10 years, both AR and VR.

A more than four-year-old videogame, yes.
Houston is some of the flattest land you'll find in the states, but at least we're not quite below sea level.

I'm from Austin, and have lived in Tokyo, and I used to joke while in Tokyo you'd go stir-crazy missing trees and greenery, despite the large parks there; in Houston you go crazy missing hills and topography if you're used to it.

Same here, already had an openshift account.

It's designed to accommodate glasses, and there are also 3rd parties developing custom lens inserts to match your prescription.

Probably not 100% accurate, but the APC UPS on my nas build of similar design (xeon e3, 8x3tb red main array + 3tb scratch/hot spare + 2tb scratch + 500gb ssd for jails)

reports 30w when idle, 42w when reading from the array, 75w when transcoding in plex

My energy bills aren't crazy, and I leave it on 24/7

As someone with a similar build (Freenas, 8x3tb raidz2 main array, 3tb scratch/hot spare, 2tb scratch, and 500gb ssd for jails)

I would love a rackmount for drive accessibility, but I can't justify 10x the case cost and additional engineering in making it as quiet and clean as my fractal design R4. Rackmount stuff just isn't designed to be either of those, high static pressure fans and expectation of pre-filtered air. (That said I'd totally be willing to pay ~500$ if such a case existed)

I don't follow this stuff too closely, but isn't that what http://www.shapeways.com/ is?

Probably means CARB, where states that have adopted California's emissions regulations require certain parts of the vehicles be replaced by special CARB-approved versions when they fail. Even if they're exactly the same as non-carb approved versions yet cost 2-3x as much.
