It wasn’t speculation, they still associate with other people I know and I have heard the reasoning either directly or indirectly in every case.

Anecdotally, I lost multiple male friends when I came out as bisexual, so the “fragile masculinity” theory feels especially apt. The fear of being perceived as anything other than heterosexual by association seems to be a big problem with many men.

I had to quit one of my first jobs over it, the combination of cheap fluorescent lighting and no natural light caused me to have constant headaches.

I’m 35 and burnt out by working almost nonstop since I was 14… I have something to show for it, but I don’t care anymore and would rather live like your nephews.
