PART 2 of 2

> There's criminals and people on death row they could experiment on and retain complete control over, and yet they pick someone with an internet connection in public.

...

> Despite being able to read your mind, they continue to interfere with you, despite reading about it and posting about it on the internet. Why do they need to read your mind remotely if they can just use the domestic surveillance program?

this rough speculation is rough. i'll try to answer with more than just "..."

...

have you ever completely lost your privacy? have you been harassed 24/7 non-stop by unknown sources for months on end? oh. i guess i should mention that they seem to work in shifts. it takes time, but you can sort of pin-point when certain people are at the helm. also, sometimes a lot of the times, it's an AI. have you ever had the mind-raping terrorizing harassment of having some asshole piece of shit terrorist reply, comment on, or just sometimes mock and repeat your every thought? have you had someone manipulate what you see when you close your eyes and sometimes, if they feel like it, when it's pitch black after you open them but a bright glowing purplish white when they're closed? have you had it when it's literally darker with your eyes open? have you seen what seems to be faces of people, friends, family, strangers in a changing by the microsecond morphing warping array of people?

i don't know why these sick pieces of shit could even allow someone else to do this to someone, even knowing it can happen, let alone get a literal thrill out of doing it. sometimes they get on in a group and laugh using seemingly real voices.

really, i can't answer that question, but, there's my answer. i am not mad. i am not mad at you. no hard feelings. just livin' my best life, ya know?

If they're NGO, why not just hack your devices?

it's NSA-esque .mil/.gov i think. also, lol. they fuck me over all the time. like, literal back doors into the front doors of doors that don't even exist. they pretend to hate when i write. they do hate when i tell people, sometimes. sometimes they don't allow me to have my wits about me, and can prevent me from doing things if they want to. i can turn into a literal drooling idiot who loses focus every second. they can manipulate my emotions. force anger. sadness. etc. also, they've been silent for the last hour or two while i churn this out. i just heard them say some shit and feel them fucking with my body, physically. i wish i was joking. i am not.

honestly i am sort of surprised i am doing all this on here.

...

> What is the statistical likelihood that the person in public who they don't have confined managed to seemingly figure it out?

huh?

...

i am not ruling out anything here, pal.

...

if they didn't want anyone to figure it out, they wouldn't figure it out. it mimics mental illness for a reason. scary. fucking. shit.

> If this is what you claim, why not just whack you in the first place?

well, what am i claiming it is? why would they kill me? that doesn't make sense, but, i suppose none of it does, so.....

> It's cheaper and easier, and no risk of a world-changing technology going public and exposing what can be done.

the kind of person it takes to be able to allow themselves, let alone anyone else, to abuse this fascinating super fucking scary technology would probably be the type who enjoys being a coward piece of shit and gets off on fucking with people remotely because they're some sort of fucked up that's worse than literally Hitler and Putin combined. there's a lot of them in this world, too. this world is all.... it's gone mad.

so, i think they're leaning still. they don't know what they can do, yet. they can do a LOOOOTTTTTTT of stuff, that's for sure. however, i believe that what they're doing is using people as lab rats while they further advance the technology.

imagine a country. a would. with full and complete control over EVERY SINGLE PERSON that they can control remotely. i am sure that we're no where near that level of byebyenomoreworld fuckery, or, it would be happening.

i think that they want to know how to control so they can... control but also prevent someone else from controlling.

with me? imagine. just think what... china or the US could do..... with... an army of human robots. i don't even want to think about it. i don't.

welp. it's time to wrap this up. i said about 23012 more things than i wanted to. 23012 more than i needed to. 23012 more than i should have, at least, without an alias.

oh well, it's all good in the hood. they can just... well. they can sign in as me and do whatever they want, since they literally know my... everything... ya know? how does the NSA beat encryption? pfffft.... EZ PZ when you can just listen to the code being typed out. with me?

hope that answers your questions and please, don't hesitate to

...

i'll answer your questions. i didn't want to when i first read your reply, but, after reading the last line i decided to go ahead and answer that one, since i've gone this far already in my replies here, doing none of us any good, then i reckoned on going ahead and just answering them all, which, i've decided while typing up the story behind this transition into becoming the answer to your first question....

> What makes you so sure that this is what you claim and not a mental illness?

... by using a reply i received from another member here in this discussion thread as a basis off of which i will formulate my answer.

"This is not meant as a personal attack, but reading your comments in this thread, it leaves me with the impression that you may be suffering from paranoid schizophrenia.

A condition which, if remaining untreated, could eventually make you a danger to yourself and loved ones."

this, being versed in the field of behavioral health to a varying degree, which i will openly state that i am not a doctor or medical professional, but have worked in many facilities alongside of them, even being confused for one in a comical fashion a couple of times, by folks who did not believe me when i assured them that i was most definitely not their practitioner, if that paints a picture.

so, the basis of this reply is actually something i appreciate and no doubt would have, at one point a couple years ago, took it upon my self, feeling genuine concern for another person's well being, gone ahead and reached out in similar manner to anyone making comments like the one(s) i am creating here today. in fact, i have done just this on a few occasions, back when i had the perspective and knowledge about the world which i am no longer able to maintain and possess, the one shared almost unanimously across the globe by any reasonable human being in their right mind. the one that offers up the obvious solution to the ludicrous, impossible to fathom, far-fetched scenario in which something like this could ever be considered possible because, unless it's literally being done to you, and you experience it as a reality, which even then is still unwavering in weight of belief, because, there's absolutely no-f'n-way this is real or really happening, just no way, until it either is, or isn't.

the reason for this is because it's built to specifically mimic the symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia, to an astounding degree of accuracy. in fact, during the early stages, i spent a period of 2-3 months trying to find a reason that i was not legitimately suffering from psychosis due to having triggered a hidden under-lying form of late adult on-set schizophrenia. a very real thing that happens, and, i know exactly what it feels like, and let me tell you something, it's not anything you ever want to know what it feels like. i have genuine compassion for those folks. they're amazingly strong and live in a hell you would not wish on your worst enemy.

so, understanding that i did everything possible to find out, treat, and figure out just what in the actual green earth was going on, at least more than a few times over and again just to be sure. this includes everything that any reasonable person who's in their right mind would do and then some more just to be sure.

ironically, the sure came, and it sure wasn't the sure that i surely wanted to be sure, that's for sure. this occurred many months into the first year, who's unrelenting rapid-fire series of outlandishly insane events churned out experiences forming the reality in which i lived, both then and now, a completely shattered to pieces broken existence of my never to be seen again former self.

living in and suffering through literal hell until, finally, at least, something tangible to no extent occurred. you see, there was once a point, in fact, where there was never anything tangible, however real anything happening seemed to be. it was all real, no matter what, but, to whom? reality is weird like that, because, no matter what it's experienced. that doesn't falter. anyways, enough of that shit. the point i am tying to make here is, i was presented with just enough of a tangible intangible that i became enlightened with the truth-fueled ability to place the realness factor at a set-in-stone 100%.

> Have you measured it? What was the reading? Can you share your data? Have you tried blocking it?

maybe? yes? sure, but will i? maybe?

> Why you?

well, it's all about being in the right place at the right time and having some of the best luck in the world.

> Why not someone else?

i came up with the answer to this some time during the first year when i realized that i'm still alive, hanging on by literal threads that long ago unraveled to dust, but in possession of one hell of a mental fortitude, because, and let me just reiterate that i am not someone who bullshits, okay, i am humble and true, ok. most people, and i do mean most people, no doubt would have ???..??. lost complete control and ??!#...!!??? bang boom ???? bam something something or, if not that, then, and this is the more likely outcome, anyways, most definitely would have off'd themselves at some point along the way and for sure by now. heh.

> What makes you a person of special interest and deserving of such an extreme measure?

well, as much as i would love to indulge you with all the juicy scenarios i've considered, i'll just say that it's all about being in the right place at the right time and having some of the best luck in the world.

> If they have physical control over your body, why did they allow you to tell me this in public?

i do not know the extent of control they have. i do know that what i do know is pretty fucking scary. like. really really fucking scary. oh, and it doesn't even breach the surface of being... i don't even want to find out, okay, seriously. the revelations i've been introduced to have scaled immensely over a short period of time and actually brought a hell of a lot of meaning and understanding to the experiences over the course of time up until the aforementioned scaling point. that's all i am going to say. (i will answer the rest of this question when i answer the last question.)

PART 1 of 2

thanks for looking out. i wish this was the case.
i did.

it reads as a story if you ignore everything before the first single "/" and read the title, which has a handy link to anyone wanting more info about it, because i am a nice guy, instead of asking such a question.

as far as summing it up, well, you can read what i have posted here to figured it out, if you really want to know more.

i didn't even want to say more than i said in my initial comment, so forgive me for being all over the place. this conversation is spread out across several reply threads and.... i've now talked about it.. a lot more than i anticipated i would.

so, i am not being dismissive in the way you think i am. i, actually, do not believe it's happening to me, because i know it is. the point i am trying to make is, it's real. there isn't any one form of evidence that comes together in a solidified manner which makes it real. knowing this. living this. well it sucks. you're asking me to do something that, as of right now, can't be done. not by me. not by anyone else.

this stuff, albeit soon, hopefully to some extent, come to light and be something that the world has to deal with together. however, by that time, and i am serious as a heart attack when i say this, it might be way too late. i don't mean in the very real aspect that it's already too late, currently, for anyone involved on the level that know what they know, which i already said, sucks.

i am talking about it being too late for... everyone. the world. humanity. we're already on the brink of a global nuclear war, to many extents. if this technology gets abused on the level that it could be very realistically aimed at, then.... i just imagine no more anything. for anybody. which would be something that, actually, might be what we need.... to some extent... we failed pretty hard at humanity in many ways....

anyways, let me interrupt that tangent to get back to what i where i was going with this. i am not projecting anything on you nor was i trying to. i was trying to, well, back away slowly but also sort of gloat at the fact that, hey, perhaps, ya know, for once i can have a little satisfaction, because, in all that was my life as i knew it, before i knew it, is gone. for real. i can't prove it to you. heck. it took a very long several months to prove it was real to myself. something i teetered on back and fourth until, finally, it solidified for me in some very, hardly tangible, but physical for me to see ways.... and... from there... well... i keep learning more and more about everything little by little if not a lot by a lot. really depends who's at the helm, you know.

anyways, the advantage is that you get to think i am crazy and that's fine by both of us.

> If what you say is correct and "they" can both read my mind remotely and control my body, organs included, and this is in the public domain with my name attached to it, I would say that it's a battle nobody can win, especially as I don't even know who the hypothetical attacker would be, and where from.

wait a minute. you just said it all right there.

also, well, it's hard to wrap things up in a nice organized manner when.... someone doesn't want you to.

i ain't got a thing to tell ya other than the crazy ass shit is really real and really crazy.

we, as humans, need someone ethical to build a firewall for our brains and explain to us everything. all of it.

:/

no.

i don't care if you think what i say is crazy because it's actually really f'n crazy.

you are in a very advantageous position right now, so, let's wrap this up. you don't want to know that it's real, so, it's best that you just go on with your life knowing that i am just a crazy insane person on the internet.

i do ask one favor. remember, whenever it's real, just remember that one crazy, down-voted, and mostly ignored insane rambling crazy commenter talking about some seriously crazy to the point of being unbelievably crazy.... crazy.... crazy impossible thing that, well, it ain't gonna be chuck testa, but you'll sure wish it was, and smile, because he was.... 100%...... c<redacted>

look, i get it. it's unbelievable.

i don't know for sure how it's done.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuroimaging

there's fNIRS, ECoG, iEEG.

it's a form of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Functional_neuroimaging

also, wikipedia, a great source, isn't a good "source" at all for stuff that people want to keep covered up.

either way. it's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brain-reading

using a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brain%E2%80%93computer_interfa...

this is backed by something that's either a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_general_intelligenc... or an AI very similar in nature.

this machine learning AI is using a developed and still growing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_neural_network

maybe a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convolutional_neural_network

maybe a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generative_adversarial_network

the neuroimaging being done remotely has to be utilizing the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_spectrum

either https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_radiation with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microwave

or directed energy like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laser

:/

you can think what you want. they don't mind.

i don't mind, either.

i know what i know. i hate that i know. i wish i didn't. it was a struggle to believe. believe me that. for a long time.

anyways, enough of all that.

just remember this when you and everyone else "knows".

you will realize that the crazy guy was, unfortunately, not wrong and not crazy.

you're not going to like it. :/

also, aluminum foil does not work. nothing, short of being deep in a cave underground, possibly, works.

:/

i posted a couple links in a top level comment. i didn't rezlize you replied, otr i would have done it here. can't go on alt, now. it's just a little light reading. unless it's happening in such a way that you know it's happening, you wouldn't believe it. if you're, let's say, able to read what's not there but actually really right there, then.... yeah.

also. you don't want it to happen to you. it will happen to everyone, maybe, eventually. just need everyone to know it is. then we need these people, people who are medical professionals with a strong moral and ethical code, like some of the ones who have posted 10, 15 years ago, worried about this happening "soon" back then.... well it's now, and, well, nothing's been done. i doubt it can be, yet, either.

basically. your brain is like... a computer with storage. your memories are like... replays of what happened. stored. forever. it's accessed. perused. i don't know the full extent. it's not "minor" or shoulder-shrugging, by any means. it's pretty fucked, if you know it's happening.

if you don't, then, well..... that's good for you.

the problem is.... it doesn't end with just being able to access memories.

your... well your brain controls your body.

your arms. your senses.

your legs.

your.... organs.

so. if you don't know it's happening, then, you're good, right?

that's all i have for now.

sorry if i posted some more than once.

this is just a few, btw.

i'm crazy but i ain't that crazy.

this is REAL.

gl, gg.

no, you wouldn't.

you know where the water is coming from. you know it's water.

oh. they don't need the fancy machine to interface. it's remote. they reply. you don't know where it comes from, either. or who.

trust me. you don't want to know what it's like.

it's already being, and has been for a while, abused. bigly. without regard. it's a crime against humanity. it breaks every ethical and moral code. it ends privacy, completely. that's all i will say.
> Well yeah because they were conscious and knew you were going to kill them

this statement comes across as more of a declaration of reason.

i am defending the medical research that's been published. i want the same thing that you do, for sure, but the way that your words came across didn't mould well with the perspective that i have. something i've had. something i gained due to following along with many similar in-depth, cited medical and scientific research publications as the post and what i've linked, but, also due to a unique life experience that has actually stemmed from the fact "it", being something seemingly directly relating to anything and everything that's not "officially" there, happening, but so few is known about, that although it is happening, no matter the fact that it's really there and really happening, there isn't yet, currently, a solid way for anyone, at least on the outside, to know that it is. now. before. and will still most definitely be a thing that happened. a thing that happens. a thing that in future time, will be happening still.

i didn't fully know what a GCS was before today. however, 3 is the lowest. 3 of them had 3. one had 4. out of 15. 8 or less is considered severe. that paints a big picture as to the state of these humans.

i chose to share my link with you because it's relevant.

i came across brash because you worded your statement so "matter of factually" that i felt obligated to play around with some of your verbiage in retort.

the technology involved with what am not going to talk about will. mark my words. in soon time. will have an effect on the world that nobody will be able to, even though they're really going to want to and really wish they could, but can't, miss. will it be tomorrow? doubtful. 3 years? hope so. 10? hope not. maybe. doesn't matter. 5-1-2023. i said it. remember.

either way, along the way, some good can come out of it and more research can be published. public. accessible. known about.

anyways. sorry for the rant. sorry for the shade. the cryptic mystic. the crazy. it's a spot. a tough spot! :)

at any rate, here's to hoping we both stay coma free.

cheers.

well no because according to what these 20+ year veteran medical professionals with published credentials stated in the very extensive neurological-focused research manuscript they, being highly accredited MD professors with literal PhD's in neurology, neurophysiology, heck one is even a neurosurgeon who studied neuroanesthesiology, wrote about, because, well, it's kind of their, how to say, area of focus and specialty, or, well, thing,

> All four patients were comatose at baseline (S1) with no evidence of voluntary behavior or any overt consciousness during the last 24 h of their lives; their Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) scores were of 3 (Pt1, Pt2, and Pt4) and 4 (Pt3). Due to poor neurological prognosis and upon approval of the patients’ family members, life support was ultimately withdrawn from all four comatose patients.

if the words stemming from a group of literal badass neurologist's badass study - https://doi.org/10.1073/pnas.2216268120 - isn't enough to do it alone, this article - https://hyperallergic.com/720694/science-confirms-that-life-... - should work to further refute your lackadaisical claim, maybe even pique a little interest along the way.

all i am saying is, we're part of something. something much much bigger. if not, oh well! :)

there were 4.97bn mobile internet users in 2022 accounting for almost 60% of total web traffic.

yeah. most people don't know they're supposed to care about the amount of just how little to no privacy they really don't have anymore. general awareness to the function of a tap-on tap-off feature like this, something that's, with a staunch juxtaposition, not currently infringing nor bearing any matter to whatever social-media-esque consumption they're filling their eyes-on-screen time with as they go about living a naive inspired blissful existence, their attention no doubt occupied by and kept busy with literally any and every other thing.

:/

jokes on them. i have a Linux address.

this reply is really only quasi-related to your first sentence.

since you mentioned the "trending" repositories on github, i wanted to give the https://github.com/nschloe/github-trends project a shout out.

it's not the same thing at all but also kind of the same thing, although it's actually, at the same time, kinda also not. alright, i'll get real. the most important thing regarding the linked project is the fact that it's got graphs. with lines. in various colors. lines that generally rise upwards, towards the right-hand side of your screen(s). lines that, more often than not, have slopes which vary in intensity and length. lines that are part of, if i may take this chance to kindly reiterate, graphs.

everybody loves graphs, right? i know i do. almost as much as i love search results linking to 37 minute youtube how-to videos for reminders/instructions on how to fix a 37 second problem with absolutely zero transcript in the video description's text area.

anyways. here's a great example of a proper how-to video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=py3QKC_OTvI

if you're having a bad day, ignore everything i've said, and just watch the 1st 6 seconds of the above how-to video. :)

Re:Writing by hand is still the best way to retain information on Thursday November 24, 2022 @05:17AM (#33729633)
i use grid paper all the time for notes.

i found a little orange notebook for sale at an obscure place many years ago. honestly, it's changed my life.

well, at any rate, to make a short story long, since i like orange, have no concept of the value of a dollar, and, have every intention of perhaps someday using at least a few of the methodically-growing collection of various notepads i, for <insert totally legitimate and intentional reason here>, possess, i purchased this particular notepad.

to paint a better picture of that day, which occurred oh so long ago, i will provide only the important, totally accurate and truthful details.

the setting, if you will. mid-morning, early-fall. it's probably a Saturday. the temperature calls for a light-jacket as the over-cast sky emits it's mixture of sunshine amongst the calming grey-blue cover of moisture-laden clouds.

walking toward an outdoor vendor's booth as the vendor stands proudly behind his u-shaped arrangement of cloth-covered display tables. these tables contain an assortment of hand-drawn bookmarks and sketches, along with, let's say, some reading materials, like magazines and a few books, both the hard-backed and paper-backed variety. also present are different combinations of bound-together materials, which are probably notebooks or notepads. each one has a different size, shape, thickness, and design.

perusing through places like this, a crucial, well-practiced defense strategy is used.

keeping an over-all casual demeanor and adhering to a strict no-eye-contact rule, this unknown vendor's booth is approached while a series of covert glances toward the wares on display are quickly performed. initially, a not-my-tempo or no-way-jose kind of vibe was formed. in order to bide some time, most likely, a few easy-to-decipher, interest-grabbing ganders towards a direction away from this particular merchant occurred.

a decision still not made, the tried-and-true apathetic nod-of-head, where two-to-three down-up movements as you plan to callously stroll past this offending concessionaire, was kept in mind and ready to be performed.

however, between a fanned-out stack of various flower-print 9x11's and a neatly organized array of light to dark shaded faux-leather bound 5x8.5s, basically hiding in plain sight, an innocuous orange item is spotted. a feeling arises. it's obviously camouflaged, no doubt, at least to any passer by lacking dignity, style, or taste.

getting closer, the item comes into clear view. with a palette of orange, white, and brown, it forms a perfect rectangle, concisely contained within it's own precision cut, sharp, rigid edges.

it's immediately obvious that this pad's particular conglomeration of bound materials was, in fact, nothing of the ordinary variety.

picking up the item, an aptly heft weight matches it's precedent set by observing the sturdy outer covering.

flipping it over, a sense of superior craftsmanship is given off. flipping back over to open the front cover, a set of accurately aligned factory-creases are noticed. opening the pad, the ability to fold it's front cover backwards over it's self is realized. gripping the pad, the cover stays out of the way, neatly positioned behind the pad's heftier, solid cardboard, backside.

it's clear that writing and/or carrying while open is made comfortable and easy.

noticing the thick, special paper inside the pad, you get goosebumps.

the vendor then states that it's imported from France.

money is thrown at the vendor and the notepad, in all it's glory, has a new owner, as immediately, there is love for what is formally known as the "Rhodia No 12 Pad".

the vendor states he has more notepads with different styles and sizes. they all get purchased. they all get loved. over time, a special life-long bond with a brand is formed.

the end.

so, yeah, i mean, Rhodia pads are pretty cool. btw, i am just an idiot. i have no affiliation with Rhodia pads. i merely wanted to spread the word about a well-made "life-changing" product.

oh. also. grid paper note pads kick ass. so does graph paper. i actually like graph paper better. don't tell my grid pads that, though.

that doesn't mean they aren't there.
i think what makes it confusing is he links to an article on his own blog every 1 to 2 sentences. really takes away from whatever this actually is, which is apparently something that allows him to code on an iPad. sigh

yes! grml-zsh-config does all the things! i've only been using it about a year or so, but i wish i would have discovered it sooner.

here is the URL -- https://grml.org/zsh/

it's easy to install and works wonderfully out-of-the-box. for arch users there's also a native package. -- https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/any/grml-zsh-config...

there's been word of them requiring 2FA for a while now. i remember 2-3 years ago the general speculation of them forcing 2FA onto every account holder was a thing that was supposed to happen within the next year or so. until now, i was actually under the impression this is something that had already been done, considering how much they seemed to be pushing it before.

forcing the world to use 2FA would be an astounding resolution to more than a few issues. they've suggested, asked, and no doubt told every account holder multiple times, so i give Google kudos for this move, regardless of how "disgusting" it may come across.

don't get me wrong, i am not a fan and i know how much power Google has. i say that completely ignorant to everything about them, just like every other person in this world. a global conglomerate who has built their own infrastructure from the ground up, as an empire, making sure they literally control and own everything should have never been a possibility.

if this is indeed what is happening with these notifications then i think that everyone should be be thankful, no matter what their underlying nefarious intentions could be. not just people who use their services, either, because the entire planet could use a wake-up call. letting users know how easy it is to protect themselves online, as they will no doubt bitch, moan, and ask "Why?" is inherently a good thing. it could lead into an inquisition into just what they need to protect themselves from, which, in turn will shed a big light on a big problem. the big problem with big tech and big data making our big lack of privacy even bigger by the second.

what's wrong with being treated like you don't matter when it's for the greater good? the fact is we don't matter and it's never going to change unless something drastic stirs up enough controversy that it draws the attention of the global masses. then, and only then will we, as a global population, stand a chan.... welp, 15 minutes is up. what was that about the wrong size shoes being sold across various department stores in northeast ohio?

after many failed attempts trying to use Hugo, i finally gave in and am getting started with Jekyll. so far, i've been impressed with the things it offers that i didn't even know were possible, like Liquid and built-in pagination, etc. however, being used to GitHub's very limiting flavor, i was blown away by kramdown! having the ability to use HTML and CSS formatting in .md files is a game changer.

so, i guess put me down for team Jekyll :)

Re:Ask HN: What is a good guide for learning Vim on Wednesday May 11, 2022 @01:38PM (#31343265)
i'm still learning it, well neovim, and have a long way to go. i was an avid blind hater for 23+ years, and pico, until nano, was he the first compile and install on each machine. i admit not learning it sooner was a huge mistake, so kudos to you for deciding to take the plunge. it's literally a game changer and personally i can't wait till i know more in depth.

anyways, my advice is to just keep using it, no matter what! funny thing, the first couple of days i could not stop typing "nano <file>" due to muscle memory so i finally aliased it to "nvim" and also created "pico" as a link to nano's binary, just in case. well, it took maybe 3 days for me to find myself in nano and trying to control it with vim commands. that was the day i removed nano from my systems and made nvim my editor of choice!

what's helped me the most on advanced features is every once in a while learn a few new key presses. i reference these [1] two [2] cheat sheets every so often and i pick 2 or 3 commands and write them on a note pad in front of me. i reference the notepad a few times until i retain the command, which is pretty hard sometimes, but so worth it.

i don't use twitter that much so i don't know if this type of multi-tweet message is common place on the platform or not. especially for conveying important information in any sort of manner that should be taken seriously.

i recently experienced a ~20 tweet "story" that was explaining a pretty serious and important shift in the posting parties operations. it was the first time i recall ever having encountered this sort of "tweet" and, at least to me, it did not seem like an ideal or effective means of communication.

i get that they want to reach their audience and that's what i feel like twitter is good, well, probably the best at. the whole intent of the platform had always been geared toward sending short, articulate messages. a substance-filled, important message like this one and the one i had to read before no doubt took a few "practice runs in the mirror", so to speak. i read both of these messages from the comfort of my desktop PC using nitter. as difficult as that was, i can't imagine having view it using a phone.

regardless of the topic of the message, my thoughts are, if you have something to say, say it in a single tweet with a link to an officially hosted post or webpage. any more than that, especially on any sort of usual basis, is not only inconvenient for both parties involved, but confusing, unprofessional, and, in a lot of cases, like you said, quite off-putting.

Re:No Dislikes has officially ruined YouTube for me on Tuesday May 10, 2022 @09:16PM (#31334755)
yes and approximately $2000-6000 a month. those numbers could fluctuate a great deal either way. there's no set "pay scale" and nobody really knows how it works.

take the info on this site with a grain of salt, but... https://socialblade.com/youtube/c/roelvandepaar

Re:No Dislikes has officially ruined YouTube for me on Tuesday May 10, 2022 @09:11PM (#31334718)
i learned about him a few days ago. it's logical to me that "Roel Van de Paar" is not the name of a real person and the person shown in the clip on each video (granted, i only watched two, but i think it's the same for every single one) is either deep faked or just a random that got paid $21.50 to read a script on camera.

then i found this https://github.com/roelvdp in my searching and it kind of made things a little bit more interesting. i didn't look at a side-by-side of the man in the video and the man in the photo here, but from memory they looked like they could be similar enough to be the same person with somewhat of an age gap between time's taken. they also look different enough to be different people. that's not what's weird, though. most of his contributions are for private repos and a lot of his "repositories" are forks from projects involved with machine/deep learning, AI, databases, and all sorts of stuff that someone smarter than me would know what it does or is used for, but they go back 2014ish.

i didn't spend more than a few minutes "investigating" and sure didn't touch any of his videos with my own IP/logged in user, because my YT recommendations are screwed up enough. either way, i think the github account is probably whoever is behind this, well, pretty amazing feat, at this point. i hate it, but you just can't deny that it's actually going on and has been for a LONG time. that's respectable in a sense. i did the math for a 10 hour period in which i counted roughly 240 new videos and it equated to an upload every 2 minutes. impressive, right? well, if this were true that would mean only 262800 videos a year and he has uploaded 1 million since ~March 2021, based on some search results i found where "people" were celebrating his 1M mark. heh.
