So, you're worried about them breaking containment and deciding to do bad things?
Re:Livenerf: Has Opus 5.5 been nerfed yet? on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @07:25PM (#49902240)
You mean to write YOU haven't experienced this. Many have indeed experienced this.
Re:AI needs $6T in annual revenue to justify data centre boom on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @05:18PM (#49900744)
I can run qwen locally and it's actually pretty good. I'm not worried. Worse case, I'll have to use DeepSeek or something.
Re:GPT 6.1 Sol: Near-Astra intelligence for a fifth of the price on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @04:28PM (#49899955)
Bigger => Bigger, makes sense to me.
Re:Mercury 2.5 LLM hits 770 tokens per second on Wednesday September 23, 2026 @07:47PM (#49824269)
Not if your use case needs speed. For one of my products I can't use an LLM that has a p99 of >700ms for TTFT.

They need to catch up to OpenAI, so it makes sense to skip a few numbers.
Re:More than 100k people in Japan are now aged 100 or older on Thursday September 17, 2026 @09:12PM (#49749005)
Which doesn't track. Public transport in Japan is peaceful. I feel more relaxed on a Train in Japan than a car or Train in Canada.
Re:More than 100k people in Japan are now aged 100 or older on Thursday September 17, 2026 @09:08PM (#49748984)
The PRC has made threats towards Japan. It makes sense to consider them in the context of Japan defending itself.
Very cool! I created something similar (with the same name), but in 2 tools. One to share skills (skillsync) and another to share context (contextsync).

I like to create a design with one model, sync it to another and iterate on it, then potentially go to another to apply/implement.

I did this, kind of, with my companies internal tools. LLM<->LLM links.
That's actually pretty neat.
>and I wouldn't pretend otherwise.

Such of a Claudism. Not criticizing, just noticing.

Re:Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1 on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @06:10PM (#49528932)
>but if you're doing fundamental research it's 99% stuff you are building yourself with your own hands.

You can do LLM->3D Printed models now. The drone can fly in and pick them up and bring them to the location you want. They can assemble structures. All automated, all LLM driven.

Things are changing. What was true, no longer is.

Re:AWS Acquires DuckDB on Wednesday August 26, 2026 @06:07PM (#49456577)
I left AWS recently, but I don't think the entire place is a mess. It really depends on the team.

On my team we were expected to work 90+ hours a week, and were told we were slackers if we were unwilling to work Sunday afternoons. But I've heard from others that some teams are a lot better.

I'd consider a year a while, but then, time is relative.
What would the time to first token be on a setup like this?
