Re:An ad-free Android TV on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @04:57AM (#50163188)
In past one week, there has been a lot of Projects on debloating Smart TV's.

I think it all started with a guy making a plex app [0] in rust thereby reducing the launch times of the app.

Then lots of projects started coming up including replacing the browser itself. All these projects seems to be created with claude code.

This is truly a golden age of Personal software.

Re:Gemini 4 Argon on Thursday October 01, 2026 @12:29AM (#49917743)
Logan Kilpatrick announced [0] that training for Gemini 4 started towards the end of July. I'm surprised they could finalize a frontier level model within 2 months.

If an entire model training can be completed in 2 months there is really no moat for any company in this space now.

Re:Sonnet 5.5 on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @02:15AM (#49888925)
For the folks asking what is the point of Sonnet 5.5 when Opus 5.5 is better in every way, Sonnet is now the new default in the free tier and now people using Claude Web in the free tier get access to an almost close to the frontier model.

Let all the files get released first.

Then show your hacks.

Thinkpad is great. At-least you know your job is safe for next 28 years.

Not on topic, but I have to admit.

That cow in the webpage is a nice touch.

I fully expected a modal window asking for my email to share updates and was surprised to receive a Joke instead.

Man, this study is going to be paraded as the proof that astrology is scientific and ancient people were more knowledgeable than us.

The only standout feature of this car is that it doesn't come in the usual white or black colors.
Re:The 90-year-old man who built a western wear empire on Tuesday December 19, 2023 @09:36PM (#38704816)
The title gave me the impression that a man started a western wear Empire at the age of 90.
I just visited bulma.io and couldn't help but notice the sketchy-looking Patreons/GitHub sponsors that Bulma has listed. Lots of casinos are supporting Bulma.

Are these genuine Bulma customers happy to support a product they use, or am I witnessing some new way of money laundering here? What is the Phone Tracking app doing there? I mean, Bulma needs all the support it can get, but what does a casino want from Bulma?

Re:Show HN: Autotab – Boring AI Agents for real world tasks on Saturday October 21, 2023 @12:27AM (#37964074)
Im also seeing it for first time.

But i assume it means Bring Your Own (Open AI Authentication Key).

Good Luck to whoever thinks of getting around in South India by speaking Hindi.
The name of the App is IRL.

It boasts of 10M+ downloads in Google Play

Re:Bringing the power of AI to Windows 11 on Tuesday May 23, 2023 @02:14PM (#36048473)
Is this limited to Win 11 Pro edition only or also available for Win 11 Home users ?

Everywhere they are mentioning coming soon to Windows 11, but considering they are projecting it as a developer focussed instead of for normal people i get the vibe it is not for Home edition.

Re:The new Bing runs on OpenAI’s GPT-4 on Tuesday March 14, 2023 @11:45PM (#35163582)
What do you mean by downloaded Bing? Did you download an Android / iOS app?

Bing with GPT feature is only available via https://www.bing.com/new which you have to access through Edge Browser only. Dont ask me how Edge can only display the page when its just chromium underneath.

Then again there is a wait list. You have to enter your email and wait for access to be given.

As stated in the reddit post itself - "They had them on Google too, but we complained and they were removed."

The ad targeting is done on Yahoo and Bing searches

One of the biggest strengths of Vanced over NewPipe when i tried them both was SponsorBlock [0]

Is there a similar feature available in Newpipe now?

No. They evolved to become fat and became rhinoceros
Re:Show HN: Find Reddit discussion threads for your TV shows on Monday September 27, 2021 @11:48PM (#28679123)
A Few Observations :

I initially searched for marvel shows presently in limelight. Loki -> Not available What If -> Not available The Falcon and the Winter Soldier -> Not available Wandavision -> Available

Marvel Shows are more discussed in marvel subreddits like /r/marvelstudios than individual subreddits like /r/wandavision

After sorting out by No of comments only i found out, author of the website has actually grouped them together under Marvel. So Wanda vision Discussions are shown under two places but not linked to each other.

Another one aspect the website fails to capture is the discussions going on in multiple subreddits created for the same TV Show.

For example game of Thrones had individual subreddits for each houses in the show, out of which /r/freefolk was very famous (1M+ Subscribers) and had in depth discussions going on when each episode aired.

Considering that this article is posted in CSS tricks, i expected an embedded Codepen example which would have made it more fun.

There is a small mistake in the results.

Its Hong Kong not Honk Kong

As per the Sponsorblock extensions Github page only App for Android based Smart TVs with sponsorblock buitin appears to be Smart Tube Next [0]
