Thank you so much for your project! I have spent the last few months working on my own retro computing CSS library, but instead inspired by BeOS https://beta.mtechnic.me

PS: while doing research on my project, I found your portfolio site as well. Was shocked to see we had the exact same taste in music, and genuinely made me curious if everyone whose doing retro throwbacks libraries did as well.

A CSS/TS React component library inspired by BeOS. Been spending the last week cutting my teeth on font issues however

Re:Open Source Resistance: keep OSS alive on company time on Wednesday May 13, 2026 @03:14PM (#48126155)
This would be amazing to see upstreamed! I did some similar work for optimizing batch calls for the Quartz Scheduler. I left before it got merged, but was able to follow up and get it in as it was already PR'd.
Java have less of a DevEx score than C# is crazy work.
Re:VitruvianOS – Desktop Linux Inspired by the BeOS on Wednesday March 25, 2026 @10:31AM (#47517847)
Pleasant surprise to hear about this. I've had a fascination with BeOS & Haiku for decades. I am now actually developing a custom website layout themed after BeOS (good excuse to learn Figma!)
Re:XMLUI on Sunday July 20, 2025 @10:46AM (#44625684)
I spent a summer working on XAML UI's for an internship, and recently dove back in as a side project to update some Windows specific apps that rely on WinForms(https://github.com/hass-agent/hass.agent). XML UI's are fairly underrated imo.

Re:What Postgres Full Text Search Is Missing on Wednesday August 07, 2024 @08:39AM (#41180772)
Thanks for the clarifications! I've been spending the last 3 weeks deep in the weeds of TF/IDF scoring and was about to give up on Elastic Search when this got posted. The article has been eye opening!!!
Really cool!! Website for mobile can use a little work, a lot of the sub headers get truncated a bit much.
FaceTime next!
Re:Ask HN: What Happened to iOS Widgets? on Saturday January 21, 2023 @10:58AM (#34467267)
There's a fare amount happening in the custom scene for widgets (like there is for KWGT on Android). Checkout the scriptable app!

Re:All in with Nuitka on Friday December 09, 2022 @08:04AM (#33920777)
I'd imagine a combination of runtime extension checking, and baseline extension support. I.e. when you pass -mavx2 or -march=native to your Cxx compiler, it sets the baseline minimum for what op codes are used.
