What would be the logic of doing this?
Yeah but what's the issue of posting your own PII?

I mean I understand that probably you shouldn't, for various reasons. And posting someone else's PII should absolutely be banned. But if I want to post my ID online, what harm can I make to anyone else?

Re:Git undo: We can do better on Monday June 21, 2021 @03:32PM (#27583259)
Shouldn't the article be called "We can undo better" :D
Re:What Happens When Rising Seas Shift Maritime Borders? on Saturday June 12, 2021 @02:44AM (#27482183)
When conflict is between 2 weak countries, conflict disappears.

When between strong and weak country, the weak country disappears.

When between 2 strong countries the UN disappears :p

GNU Windows
There's even less 'usable' ones, when you exclude private ranges etc...
I understand that it's nothing to do with curl specifically, you understand it, good chunk of HN users do understand it. But general public doesn't really
There are now proof of stake alternatives, that offer what bitcoin does and a whole lot more

Į think certain percentage will just keep the donations on. And of course some will cancel them after the feature is released.

Re:What is the best dumb TV? on Saturday October 03, 2020 @06:03AM (#24670914)
What's the point of specifically looking for dumb TV?

Is it because of tracking stuff? If so... Why just not connecting it to internet achieve same effect as having a dumb TV?

Or is there something else? :)

Well I would imagine they would just automate such thing?

And why would you do fuckery with a journalists password? Seems like especially stupid thing to do

I even tried to change my name too FUCK CCP, and it went ok. But then I got into a problem:

Is there like only one xi jingling in the whole china? If not, what at others supposed to do?

You might be right. Just to test I signed up for it, set it the exact same password, and 45 seconds is long past, but I don't appear to be banned.

Re:I think Catalina 10.15.4 broke SSH on Wednesday April 01, 2020 @04:48PM (#22753335)
>I’m not even going to go into it. I don’t want to end up on Hacker News again bitching about Catalina.

Whoops

Well if they do it for cheaper, won't it as well open them up to the same 'unfair advantage' accusations?
Can you elaborate?
Re:Bloomberg bankrolls a social-media army on Wednesday February 19, 2020 @03:12PM (#22369548)

Re:Self-driving cars turned out to be harder than expected on Saturday February 15, 2020 @11:20AM (#22336098)
>One study attempting to estimate the effects of self-driving cars on car use behavior simulated a family having a self-driving car by paying for them to have a chauffeur for a week, and telling them to treat the chauffeur service the way they’d treat having a car that could drive itself.

>The result? They went on a lot more car trips.

That's kind of pointless 'study'. Of course I will take a lot more trips for some time after getting chaffeur/self driving car, just for the novelty of it. One family for one week does not really tell anything

Re:Terminating Service for 8Chan on Monday August 05, 2019 @12:53PM (#20615687)
Except these were lies.

These people are real, and actually causing harm. Or do you argue that it is not the case?

Re:Terminating Service for 8Chan on Monday August 05, 2019 @07:40AM (#20613254)
These scums don't deserve water let alone internet access.

I don't understand this free speach absolutism. If we can't agree that encouraging people to commit killings should not be allowed then what the fuck

Not if you're on mobile... :/
>For some reason, many people who had $400 on hand still said they’d struggle to come up with the money. “We were scratching our heads,” Chen said.

What exactly made them scratch head? I mean if you have 400 in account, doesn't mean you can just willy nilly spend it on unexpected expense. Maybe this 400 have to last you till the end of month

Well if they reason they don't give the money is because they don't know how much is needed ... Well surely they didn't know at the time of pledge either?
Did you read the article?
