Do browsers still implement <marquee>?
My initial reaction is that it's related to securities law.

Um, what? There are public addresses with thousands of Bitcoins. Why aren't they getting looted?
Wait, nobody's even bringing up the fact that maybe the game developer didn't get the pass on merit alone? Yeah, the comment was rude (people are rude everywhere, always), but maybe he had a point.
For example, I want to connote that acqui-hires rather than buying traditional economic value, symbolize an acquisition and alignment of social proof.

I haven't been able to fully shake the idea that our modern notions of wealth, money and currency are built on a type of social proof pyramid. But I can't quite articulate why. What do you think?

If you don't mind me asking what were your stats? I suspect a 176 LSAT would've netted you a better-than-50% scholarship at the top 15s. Did you have a low GPA?
With a 176 LSAT you probably would've gotten some rich scholarships barring unusual circumstances.
