reminds me of the way dubai auctions off the 3 digit car license plates, then hotels do things like only letting low number license plates park out front
awesome! i am also exploring “low effort language learning” space and making an app. would be interested in bouncing some ideas, got a social handle to share?
it happens because you have one component logging everything for traceability, and it hosts the interconnect between 2 other components which need to communicate passwords. thus the password accidentally slips into a plain text log file
generally there are tools that search for & flag PII logging, if it slips through the tools its because there are layers of indirection involved
just dont do any of that. write at the level you want to write at and publish what you have. its a kind of self esteem work to say “what i write for myself is fine to make public”
and then being public also inspires slightly higher quality
cool I was looking for something like this, attractive site too
when I install it it seems to depend on vuepress-plugin-search-pro which requires yarn 2 berry. not sure if you are aware this extra hurdle
Post title made me laugh a little bit
love the concept, i want to be able to chat to the people on all pages I visit. why do i have to socialize OVER THERE when I could do it right here?
wow looks really good. i've been expecting this space to get much better (because it never looked good) and this looks primising. congrats!
I loved the concept of TLA+ and tried to get into it, but as you say
> The syntax, on the other hand, is fairly obscure and complex, and makes it harder to learn the language
the syntax was very non-standard which was off putting, and the expected dev ux seemed to be of the 'get it right on paper first then just write the text' variety. This was also off putting and I think you're right that there is a space for making a DX focused TLA+ transpiled language
I like the idea but I think its in the wrong place.
They're kind of like contract statements for preconditions/invariants but at the design layer, enforced at compile / run time.
I think this is useful for architect types, though I think this belongs more around the DependencyInjection config area.
A class should not be aware of what uses it.
the space is for your name, & your flag is not your name. nation flags are inherently political. that said by all means indicate what you like in your name, it is for you to decide. your decision to use a flag will trigger positive and negative responses. i'm just answering so you understand why you're getting the responses you're getting.
on the topic of 'simply indicating strong ties' you might want to see how confederate flag supporters are handled.
> If, after a few days, you can't actually implement the feature, think of what groundwork, infrastructure, or refactoring would need to be done to enable it. Use this method to implement that, then come back to the feature
really good, this is key. building a 'vocabulary' of tools and sticking to it will keep your velocity high. many big techs lose momentum because they dont
worth pointing out that banned and visibility limited in certain scenarios are not the same thing, which might be causing some confusion in this thread.
i do, and i was agreeing with the case that it is not false (ie the ban is not entirely false, because he said it). then i said you can use it, just like any other slur, but i imagine it will get flagged
i imagine the confusion here is that you're making the case that cisgender is not a slur
in fairness its not entirely false - at some point he started talking about how it is banned and considered a slur on twitter... but nothing came of it and like all other slurs it continues to be allowed
that's fair, i'm not a jazz listener
this makes sense, the palette cleansing works both ways!
you've put your political position in your name on a social network, every comment you make is now directly connected to it. anyone trying to do something that has "nothing to do with the conflict" is reminded of the situation because of your choice of name.
My theory on Jazz is that it is the coffee palette cleanser for people who work too much with regular music patterns. The appeal is that it is not appealing
i actually tried this this weekend using spotify's audio to midi library. it didn't work as well as i hoped, but that might be volume related. might investigate a bit more
to be fair, its likely that he took in a whole lot of information personally, and then determined his conclusion and expressed his why
I think what you're describing is the difference between learning by 'top down' thinking (ie. learning what to play) vs learning by experimentation 'bottom up' (ie. mashing random things and making mistakes until you eventually learn to replicate your favourite mistakes)
what helped me was to imagine charlie day from its always in sunny in philadelphia saying "idk man, the piano just speaks to me", then I pretend to be a rainman style idiot-savant piano player until it starts to sound good
nice, i was just day dreaming about a similar concept of collecting midi data to create fitness style visualization
what would be helpful for a beginner/intermediate is if i could practice my scales and chords, without first telling this app what i'm doing, then this app could track which scales / chords / etc i spent most time in and where my deficiencies/gaps are
this is what I was getting at, i tried on my mbp and no luck. might be just an installer issue but I wanted confirmation from someone with more know-how before diving in
Cool! Seems this is cuda only?
we really need a chicken rice & broccoli gym bro to comment on it...
ok it was obviously a bad move in hindsight, but at that point in time, was it not a gutsy high risk move to try give windows phone a small advantage? its obvious once you cancel winphone, but canceling winphone was a big concession
apple added hw instructions to m1 chips just for the obj c reference counting use case. claimed up to 15% boost. technically this is a violation of separation of concerns, but if it delivers results then it delivers results
agreed, though bad/lazy visualizations can still be useful for a cache. you know it today, but you might forget tomorrow
did this happen before or after the silicon valley episode
