Re:Ask HN: Is .space TLD Down? on Wednesday September 24, 2025 @09:39AM (#45360200)
My .space domains seem to work again
Re:HTTP: //Mempool.space/ Is Down on Wednesday September 24, 2025 @09:00AM (#45359688)
Is the DNS maybe hosted at Gandi? I have a .space domain that also stopped resolving 25 minutes ago
I've done a similar thing with a "dumb" washing machine using a Arduino with an attached LDR (light-dependent resistor) taped to the "door open" LED.

The Arduino sends the value of the LDR over serial port to a laptop which sends changes to the "door open" over Signal to my phone

Re:Turing Pi 2: 4 Raspberry Pi nodes on a mini ITX board on Wednesday December 01, 2021 @04:58PM (#29409663)
This can be achieved with the original ESP 8266
Re:Show HN: GitHub for Docker Images on Saturday October 30, 2021 @06:52AM (#29047759)
Cool project! I would be cautious with the sentence „See what’s inside your Docker“. Aside from the broader term „container image“, I would think you could get mail from Docker (as I’m the company) for using their name while you’re not Docker.
Re:Show HN: Weather API for non-commercial use on Monday September 13, 2021 @01:23AM (#28508099)
Very nice! Thank you for posting this.

I run a cronjob which sends me the forecast for the next day based on german weather service MOSMIX forecasts. I am using https://brightsky.dev for this, which makes the clunky xml files of MOSMIX available as a http api.

I’ll definitely check out open-meteo

There is openSenseMap [1] for example which collects data from many of these Arduino/ESP based devices.

Re:Encoding your WiFi access point password into a QR code on Sunday December 29, 2019 @03:51AM (#21904893)
Combine this with some automatism which changes the password of your guest WiFi and putting it on a cheap e-ink display.

Isn't it Cortex-A72 vs Cortex-A53 ?

Re:Show HN: 8chen – A New Hacker News Client for iOS on Sunday December 03, 2017 @05:53AM (#15837041)
Looks great, is fast and feels good so far.

There is one nitpick I have: The usual iOS swipe from left to go back is not working on iPhone SE (iOS 11.2)

Re:Let's Encrypt has issued its first million certificates on Tuesday March 08, 2016 @10:05AM (#11245610)
May I point you to the awesome Caddy server of Matt Holt [0]. It automatically obtains and !renews! lets-encrypt certificates.

Re:A proof of concept MongoDB clone built on Postgres on Monday April 20, 2015 @08:24AM (#9407535)
Interesting experiment! How does it compare in performance, cpu and memory footprint?
Nice!

Since your imprint states you have your offices in Germany, I presume you are also hosting in Germany? What providers do you use?

Re:Another.cat on Monday April 14, 2014 @07:33AM (#7585555)
Nice work! Does it have an API like thecatapi.com?
Re:Unofficial WhatsApp API on Monday December 16, 2013 @03:33AM (#6913521)
Which was IMHO the first of its kind.

Even better: Firefox OS
