Muahahaha, there's no escape! Maybe dial down the paranoia. It's a bit unhealthy.
Good luck to the crypto peeps out there. Seems like a strange world!
So what is the social contract in this instance? That men are entitled to women? That strikes me as... trying to run a society through coercion, just with the target being a group that people here seem fine with coercing.

Sometimes unpleasant times are necessary in the fight for human rights. Otherwise we would still have things like slavery. Additionally, women wouldn't have the right to vote, and they also wouldn't be able to make independent financial decisions like have their own bank accounts or mortgages. These things aren't that historic, and taking the side of trying to restrict women's relationship choices strikes me as being on the wrong side of history again.

Seems like we need an RSV vaccine. Flu, covid, and RSV managed by vaccine would be really nice. Colds are a bit easier to handle, at least.

Get your flu shot, and a bivalent covid booster.
It looks like the concern is less their voting, but more their propensity toward domestic terrorism.

Moreover, voting to subjugate a group of people and restrict their human rights is horrific. Men are not owed girlfriends or wives, and certainly not via the ballot box. Geez.

I mean if you're at the point where you can't enforce laws in your society, you have even bigger problems; especially if you've allowed a small minority of men to hold your system hostage. So clearly, if that is the concern, better to nip it even sooner rather than let it fester.
There is a recurring theme on this topic, and the article alluded to it via these men potentially stirring "political trouble", that the freedom of women needs to be clamped down on because these men won't otherwise find partners, and thus will cause social instability.

To me it strikes me as the entirely wrong approach. Women should in fact continue to push for their autonomy and freedom, and a functioning society should be keeping these men in check rather than yielding to them in any capacity.

Subdue the violent men? Prevent them from access to weapons? Hold them otherwise accountable for their anti-social behavior and actions?

Certainly don't obligate women to placate their loneliness simply because some men might become a threat. Take care of the threat; a woman should be, in no uncertain terms, free to conduct her personal life as she sees fit, and without fear.

Neat! Always good to see apps expanding in their feature-set. Modernizing Signal is the way to go!
Y'all sound a little too paranoid. Chill

Yeah, I probably need JavaScript. Preferably TypeScript.

Green lock it is.

Well, this is one way to reach support.
Re:Global Encryption Day: Demand End-to-End Encryption in DMs on Saturday October 22, 2022 @06:43AM (#33297113)
So what you're saying is, we can just put a green lock in the UI and call it a day.

Fine, fine. But I'm going with 'Cat-Chowing' instead.

There's got to be a better term than "dogfooding"
Re:TypeScript is now officially 10 years old on Sunday October 09, 2022 @12:58PM (#33142949)
It's a great language. I find it jarring to go back to regular JavaScript codebases after working in TypeScript for a bit now.

Physical work is great in a controlled environment. Hence, the gym. No need to destroy ones body doing physical labor, if it can be avoided.

I don't really encounter any issues with it on MacOS.

Calm app's Daily Calm with Tamara Levitt. She's a great teacher.

Overall, it's learned through practice. My style is something I like to call, Calm Zen.

I start with a daily calm session (~10min) and follow it with 20min zazen, which is a pretty basic sitting meditation style. I count breaths mentally on the exhale to 10, then start back at 1.

I find tangible results from practicing daily for at least 20min per day. Some have measured results from less, but it doesn't seem to be the case for me.

> Maybe something that I’ve learned in therapy COULD be entertained as a possibility. It’s a technique that I don’t even know HOW it’s called but it boils down to dedicating 45mins to grievance. As in – you dedicate 45mins per day when you can focus on grieving (e.g. over a failed relationship) and at any other time of the day you have to delay doing it until your 45-mins-of-grief time comes.

45min-1hr of mindfulness training would be more effective, I would think

Seems kind of like a waste either way. Crypto was sort of neat years ago, but it hasn't amounted to anything useful

I'll stick with Chrome, thanks.

Webpack hasn't been dethroned, but it certainly has a competitor.
Xanax use is cause for concern in general. Acutely it is safe, but chronic administration is definitively not, and not something to laugh about or take lightly.
They are easily one of the most harmful classes of medications. Sure, they combat anxiety acutely, but wreck ones cognitive abilities in the process. This has been readily observable for a long time.

Plus, the anxiolytic effect quickly turns into a dependency, as when the withdrawal starts kicking in you're inclined to start having anxiety attacks.

Suppose you want to get off them. Now you have a significant problem. Can't quit cold turkey -- you're likely to have a seizure.
