Right? I couldn't watch past the first 5 minutes. The fact that one of the main characters is a "cool" girl at a time where all the characters were a bunch of nerdy guys told me it was a lot of woke revisionist BS.

To be clear, I do know quite of few girls like this main character that are important in the tech industry NOW (Lymor Fried, Jeri Ellsworth, etc etc among many) but just not back then.

Re:The Lunacy of Artemis on Monday May 20, 2024 @05:45PM (#40420802)
They were incremental but they were incredibly accelerated and ambitious. From nobody ever been in space to landing on the Moon less in 10 years. It's mind boggling how fast they were, and how many projects were running in parallel that all had to work when integrated or no "landing on the moon before the decade is over".
I think lots of us did hehe. But I'm glad it wasn't for a change.
I thought this was about the other Muskrat
Re:Building a Rocket Engine from Scratch on Friday May 03, 2024 @04:58PM (#40252317)
I don't see how. Because ChatGPT is not from a US company?

Re:500 Byte Images: The Haiku Vector Icon Format (2016) on Wednesday May 01, 2024 @01:08PM (#40226138)
How so? It's obvious it was drawn to look like that. It's not a deformation.
Re:The Pen, Mightier on Monday April 29, 2024 @11:44PM (#40207012)

Re:An Electric New Era for Atlas on Wednesday April 17, 2024 @11:57AM (#40066484)
When is it "shilling" vs making me aware of something I may actually be interested in?

(I didn't even read the article)

Are all names in Mathematica really all together in a single namespace? Seems odd not to have such a specific function like SolarEclipse behind some kind of importable module.

And how do I discover what functions I want?

Re:Book Review: "Tidy First?" By Kent Beck on Monday April 01, 2024 @10:05PM (#39901626)
Indeed this comes from MATLAB which is god-awful, and I say this as an enthusiast hardcore MATLAB user.
There are so many commies in HN that I have to think that's deliberate. That's gotta be state actors at play. CCP?

Like, who the f*k cares? There are other companies working on that too.

You bet.
After the whole replication crisis debacle it's clear all of these studies are ... BS.
That sounds interesting. Where?
Re:Ex-Google engineer charged with stealing AI trade secrets on Thursday March 07, 2024 @11:39PM (#39637845)
Exactly. We only know about the terrible ones.
Re:Minuteman Weapons System History [pdf] on Thursday March 07, 2024 @11:33PM (#39637814)
