Re:Nicotine: On the benefits and lack of demerits of nicotine on Saturday November 11, 2023 @03:01PM (#38233952)
Yes, but only because nicotine is cheap, easily available, won't cause any real immediate problems or drain your bank account.

As a substance its no where near as addicting as heroin, no one would actually ruin their lives for nicotine in case it was illegal and expensive.

I am sure that you are clever enough to know that there are exceptions for almost every rule. Does not mean that BMI is useless or obesity is not real.

It's not an overreach, trolleybuses work surprisingly well at the moment. Lighter, much, much cheaper, less electricity required. And you need less of them.

Metro, trams, trolleybuses should be used primarily and then you can add electric buses for gaps. That would make sense, not trying to go straight for the most expensive and wasteful option.

Electric buses are not a new hip thing, we have had electric buses since forever. It's called a trolleybus. At the moment its in every way superior to batteries.

No they are not, most marriages are not between people with that different IQ. Most people are not that different even. What a weird thing to say.
Figurative, not literal poison. Unless you mean poison as in a substance that can cause serious harm under certain conditions. But then avoiding all such 'poisons' would probably not be that healthy.
Re:Facebook Banned in Russia on Friday March 04, 2022 @03:59PM (#30560480)
It's also likely they blocked it because then non-state approved opinions about war can circulate more easily. They already shut down those few more free media that were left so it makes sense that they would crack down on alternative platforms too.
It should be different, internet is not an archive of old newspaper articles.

You make various odd connections there that are just not true. Violent criminals do not thrive together with other violent criminals. By definition those are people who have trouble fitting in a society. There's a high chance of various bad things happening and so you need rules and guards and so on. It would never be a free society when talking about bad criminals and not small offenders.
