god is this a perfect encapsulation of the jagged nature of LLMs. incredible and kind of broken. for now at least

can’t you disable it on the device? why would they make skus for this?

sure seems like we were the first humans to listen to it
> Food insecurity being equated to gaining weight is a hilarious leap in chain of events. Food education and upbringing, sure, but insecurity? Doesn't that mean food is harder to acquire?

nope. it’s literally called the “food insecurity and obesity paradox” and it’s observed in high-income countries [0][1][2][3]

maybe if you had ~just~ done some research you’d be better equipped to more empathetically consider other’s perspectives and experiences

sure! depends on the exact poll but 50% of americans have reported issues with being able to afford groceries. 1/8th of households have actual food insecurity. whatever, that’s not even the main problem i have with your reply

> See how simple/doable those steps are?

i’ve already lost weight without GLP-1s using food tracking, etc. you don’t have to condescendingly prescribe lifestyle changes to me. it wasn’t simple and often did not feel doable, even though i am able to brush my teeth every day (?)

the objection i have is pretending these are simple, repeatable, or obvious pieces of advice that can slot in to any ‘ol lifestyle if you just care how you look or whatever

i’m also amused you couldn’t help yourself from saying “just” again

“just”
i am not a medical professional, but i urge you to get checked out for Engineer’s Disease
they’re not called Pervert Glasses for nothing

you are the reason for this policy change

my pre-nightmare prices homelab setup was this: a synology 8-bay and a mac mini. 10GbE for as much as was practical at the time.

it’s not perfect, i need to run more on the synology than is ideal for containerized reliability reasons, but it’s acceptable for personal stuff

this reply certainly answers your earlier question of “am i being a bigot or a realist”
putting women in quotes gives the game up. i don’t know what reasonable dialog you’re looking to have
the answer is almost definitely "get on the leaderboard"
Re:French Bond Risk Hits Euro-Crisis Levels [video] on Saturday October 03, 2026 @10:25AM (#49944549)
i’ll humor you. which issues are you talking about? which issues, specifically?

it’s very funny to be actually doing the “oh you know the ones” tweet in 2026

ah man. you were doing so good. legitimate-sounding finance arguments, etc. why’d you have to slip that one in

humorously, my regular iPhone on a residential home network failed the cloudflare AI bot detection and i can’t read that article
Re:Gemini 3.8 Flash on Wednesday September 02, 2026 @12:23PM (#49538601)
incredible. further evidence supporting my personal stance to never ever let an LLM write or edit my writing intended for another human being to read. this is all me, baby
Re:GPU World on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @09:31AM (#49521799)
we can't do this with food. why would we be able to do this with GPUs
i’m delighted to report that it’s actually possible for people to talk about a second, related topic in a comment section without invalidating the problems of the main post being commented on

i’m so happy this is the top comment. i’m someone who found the GRL as… a middle schooler and boy was it the coolest thing i’ve ever seen at the time

you’ve successfully over-engineered the whimsy and joy out of their original idea

the two people i know who moved upstate from NYC have both independently moved back. i think the grass seemed extra green during the long tail of lockdown.
i’m sure my parents could save thousands with YouTube TV - they have FiOS as a tv + internet provider. they’ve used those DVRs for probably two decades and know the interface and how to navigate it. that’s definitely part of it.

the cable boxes finally got EoL’d, a tech on a service call promised (lying) that the contents would sync to the new boxes, and replaced them. they were empty - my mom was in tears when she realized the DVR contents were gone forever

some of the things recorded had sentimental value (a sibling being listed in the credits of a show, etc) and also that her mental model of what she watched and had in her queue to watch was gone (sports games she had yet to watch, progress through a show)

the stickiness is UI familiarity but also the value of what might not be there with a provider change are both powerful reasons to not make changes

masterful gambit, sir
i’ve seen a whole lot of useless and bad-faith juxtapositions in my many years as an internet user, but you still managed to surprise me with this one
