Would be significantly more helpful if he instead funded some of the many projects/programs he cut via DOGE or paid off medical debt, but that wouldn't pay immediate dividends to him.
Super cool to see what goes into this, all the design and planning. Very fun to be able to play around with the device virtually and see all the stuff that was managed to be packed in there too!
Crazy to come back and go "well i asked the lying machine and it actually said these things are wrong"
I'm glad you're excited about what you "built" but it's wildly overproduced as is, and inconsistent in how the animations work. No rhyme or reason to what you've decided to put on the site either, other than "these are some big names that hopefully people will recognize". It reeks of slop.
Why let things like "this thing already exists" get in the way of reinventing the wheel with AI?
I sincerely hope this is foiled by technical problems and treated as snuff content. A sickening thing to try and encourage people to watch.
Gosh, there simply weren't enough options to make a completely uninspired and lackluster game, glad Google made theirs!
This seems like a nightmare for standardization and accessibility, no?
Great post, I am definitely guilty of overreliance on links. I need to get better about summarizing what I'm linking to to avoid a forest of homework to understand what I'm talking about.
Really well done, can think of a few times this would have been useful in the recent past. Would be great for conferences in particular!
I don't have much to offer unfortunately, but I will say I've had an uptick on spam/unusual emails to my fastmail as well, including to some aliases. I'm wondering if there's not some way actors are searching out masked aliases, or are able to bruteforce combinations?
Just throwing shit at the wall however, no definitive proof one way or another.
Love the candor of "haven't thought about" giving people an opt out. Not really worth considering for them, kind of moved beyond giving a shit what the consumer thinks about what they're doing at Amazon's size.
Anyway, these should be banned, as should any other smart glasses not for disability assistance tech.
AI slopware, with inbuilt ads to your other AI slopware.
Ah, the continued pursuit of normalizing surveillance/becoming wholly reliant on a single service by making it cute with big eyes. Very tired of this already.
Clicked on the demo "What caused the fall of the Roman Empire?" and immediately saw the same inadequacies I've seen in every other system like this: any attempt at visualizing a point ends up being absolute nonsense. Graphics and charts that confuse more than help, or even contradict what is being said.
It ends up being a hurdle I don't think these services can surpass, given these systems understand nothing, and have no spatial reasoning. Any of these systems that claim to help explain things visually end up being a huge liability for the learner and I would never recommend them to someone.
The framing is a bit deceptive, saying that these roads are "named after" these things, despite the clarification in the about that they may have no relation. This whole thing is a bit busted, the about on each "chapter" only sort of describes what a category entails. Obscure shares the same about as famous.
This feels like a project that was done without much care for the details, considering how many themes are pure nonsense. No acknowledgement of AI in how this was done but it sure smells of it.
Crazy that these labs keep throwing around entirely unsubstantiated claims like "AGI is right around the corner". Given the enormity of the problem I'd argue we're not really any closer than a decade ago, especially given LLM shortcomings.
Woof, that page is hard to read. I don't understand what they've done to the way text is rendering but it's not great for my eyes.
Golf courses are not green spaces, come on now. They are most often limited in their access and devoid of greenery native to the area or that supports pollinators. Grass does not equal green space, and certainly not the flavor of green that is present in golf courses. The alternative to a golf course is not hot concrete either, that's a false dichotomy.
As a longtime RED user, I can say I've not done anything other than just download what I want and let it sit for a while, uploading maybe a couple dozen items, and I've never come close to having a problem.
I think you're fighting ghosts that don't exist if you just let stuff seed for a while after downloading, a.k.a. just being a decent tracker member.

Anyway, it sucks that competitive products are being written off as "Temu [Whatever]", when Temu is low quality because half of its products are actively falling apart and/or coated in toxic chemicals.
I see no reason to assume the same of Chinese vehicles, which largely review well and have been ahead of others in the field for a while now (value proposition-wise at least).
I would encourage you to reflect on what you think "woke" is, and why things that you think are woke are mutually exclusive from the skills and qualities you value.
"Woke" is a nonsense scare phrase at this point, when what you're actually taking issue with is valuing people's lived experiences and backgrounds as a part of what they contribute. Understanding where people come from and how that colors their world view is simply a good practice when doing anything, but especially when you're trying to do science/academia. Too many similar minds in a room will never produce what one with a diverse group will. Diversity is good science, and valuing it is not "woke".
If you can't understand the utility of having welcoming and creative/tenacious people involved in your science (which your questions listed are asking about) then you are not nearly the expert in qualifications you think you are.
Wish they would pay this sort of attention to the violent right-wing groups in the US, but of course that would put too many cops and ICE agents in prison for their liking.
Anyway, wouldn't be a day ending in -y if this presidency wasn't yelling about "far-left terrorists".
The US seems hellbent on destroying its own economy, immigrants have always played a key part in it. Looking forward to Trump yelling about how the radical left has somehow undermined the US economy in a few months.
I don't understand why we're supposed to be impressed by these achievements. We've made mechanical things that can outdo humans for decades, putting it into the form factor of humanoid does nothing for it.
PowerAmp is an incredible app, used it and loved it before. I have a self-hosted streaming setup, so I've personally found Symfonium (1) to be my go-to. I'm glad things worked out for the author with this setup, and honestly the headphone jack is a sight for sore eyes.

I've been tooling with site for years now and I'm always shocked at what can be done with raw HTML. These are some really neat examples, some work a bit funny when it comes to mouse vs. arrow key functionality though (in particular the dropdown/autocomplete), I'm wondering if that's an Edge specific issue or Chromium.
