Re:Show HN: Raven – The harness of harnesses, built for RSI on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @01:05PM (#49896558)
“Built for RSI” sounds like the kind of meaningless thing an AI would throw into a tagline to garner clicks.
Re:AI is a bubble, just like dot-com on Wednesday August 05, 2026 @06:30PM (#49189940)
For me, it's mostly in the rhythm and pacing of the sentences -- everything is sooo so punchy. Paragraphs are composed of high-impact, terse sentences. Phrases like "Both perspectives, one person", separated on their own line for dramatic effect. To me it feels like the linguistic equivalent of ultraprocessed food; it's over-engineered for impact and gravitas, to get its point across.

I honestly feel like my actual writing style has drifted towards this, and I'm sure others' have too (although I overused em-dashes before it was uncool!).

But I think that… feeling someone's distinct verbal fingerprint as you read is a signal of authenticity among a sea of lazily generated slop, whereas even a carefully-crafted, thoughtful piece where the final thing is generated by an AI is missing that signal of authenticity.

This might be interesting, but it reads so strongly like AI slop I had to stop.
I’d argue that talking about “authentic” AI-generated images is oxymoronic.

This is where I’m at too lol.

Oop you’re totally right! Bit close to home. :)

“A system where those with money can multiply is” sure sounds dystopian to me.
Comment of the week
They were also designed to addict adults, just saying.
If you type in “Hi, how are you?” and go back and forth between English and LinkedIn Speak a few times, it winds up with “I’d like to sell you something.” Pretty accurate.

Re:OpenClaw Is Changing My Life on Sunday February 08, 2026 @12:27PM (#46936456)
To be fair, AI probably wrote the blog post from a short prompt, which would explain the lack of detail.
Re:Offline.kids – Screen-free activities for kids on Monday August 04, 2025 @03:03PM (#44790077)
I wonder how much of the site was AI-generated. The images definitely are (kids with different numbers of fingers from each other in the same picture lol).
Your posts in this thread have said exactly what I was thinking

Same here about distrusting pieces that use AI art. It’s like… a signifier of something hard to describe — values, qualities — that makes me want to listen to someone’s point of view less.
Re:Artificial womb facility concept for 30k babies per year on Monday December 12, 2022 @01:20PM (#33958122)
This has to be parody, right?
I try to always work on something that’s contributing to something I care about in the world. I find that motivation is less of an issue if there’s intrinsic value to the work I’m doing.
Re:1Password for Mac Moving to Electron on Wednesday August 11, 2021 @02:59PM (#28146179)
For me, the "bloat" issue is less significant than the way that Electron apps don't have native macOS controls. They feel like a web app in a window, and attempts to emulate macOS-style controls just feel like facsimiles.

I thought exactly the same thing! Been a long time coming…
Re:Ask HN: Have you been laid off? on Thursday March 19, 2020 @02:17PM (#22630120)
I was laid off in December… from my job researching the origins of pandemic diseases and developing mitigation methods. ¯\(°_O)/¯
