Can't say much about this particular person, but I'm tired of being told who my heros ought to be. I will choose my own, thank you very much.
Loss of all is as sad as it is certain. I am sorry for him equally as for any other person I didn't know personally.
There is this thing about not saying bad things about the dead. Well, for one thing, he was very arrogant. Looking down on any student not from CMU. Such a lack of respect tells me a lot about a person.

Software patents sereve no purpose other than inhibiting the progress of us a a species. And lawyers go "YES!".
And about Google: That's how it starts. Let's see when everyone's favorite Google changes their motto into "Don't be too evil".

I'm not sure, but a part of me doubts it. I think it's all about a very narrow group of people getting even richer.

It's good news. This was pathetic from the beginning. They didn't even care to disguise their hunger for power and control. I liked Apple for Mac. I don't any more for iPhone.

It's a nice initiative. You have probably heard of Scroogle (http://www.scroogle.org/cgi-bin/scraper.htl). How different is your thing from their thing?

I'm surprised Orson Scott Card wrote about that. I knew him only as a sci-fi writter, not a programmer. Maybe it's just his insightful mind that can wrap around many areas of life.

Babies are extremely fast learners. This particular one might have had a prior exposition to the interface, so I'm not really impressed. If you left your shiny iPhone with the baby for couple hour and next thing you would see was "Buy a new toy" in your Todo list... now that would be pretty cool.

It looks like Facebook and Microsoft like each other. So Google is just doing what any other company would most likely do.

Don't care about it either now. I liked it when it was simple. And before I got to know how full of himself Zuckerberg is. I could barely stand listening to him giving a talk. He talks about social graph as if it was his invention and equal in impact at least to the invention of a wheel. An old good connections representation in the context of a social network. Doesn't look like a revolution to me.

More integration between desktop and web environments. Eventually becoming a one inseparable instance.
