The issue is that by now the Reddit is also being taken over by the marketers, masquerading as people asking for help and people helpfully responding with product recommendations.
If Monsanto knows what they're doing, they will corporate buyout this guy and destroy his competing wheat never to be seen again - that's the optimal market solution for maximal profits.
I was going to write buy Apple TV and never ever connect the actual TV to the internet, but:
- I am unsure whether modern TVs utilize ethernet over HDMI to connect to internet through Apple TV (I have no idea why Apple TV should allow this, but I don't trust Apple to not accidentally enable this)?
- I can only imagine nefarious five eyes reasons for why Apple released Apple TV that plays 4k60 exactly like the previous models, but now has 8 GB RAM, powerful machine learning CPU, and built-in microphones that are impossible to disable
So, apart from getting used prev gen Apple TV (and still having to trust company whose leader has to accept Trumps's lunch invite), I have no good advice.
It sounds like Maths Co. will be only hiring forward deployed mathematicians from now on.
Damn, I spent some time getting Opus 5 to do this for Mac, being proud of discovering a new UI metaphor - bringing a set of workflow related windows into one “tabbed meta-window”.
Good work everyone who made this for Haiku.
It gets rather simple once you start thinking of the US as the richest third world country.
Inequality, price and state of healthcare system, huge polluters getting away, it all checks out.
Also it took 80 years of events with “massacre” in name to estabilish basic limitations on capital class, like not exploiting children or allowing people to work less than 6x12 hours per week.
At this moment I am not sure whether we are discovering bugs or planted backdoors.
I would love a mashup of iTerm2 (for tabbed quake terminal and configurability) with libghossty, would anyone want to tell Claude to marry them (and maintain it)?
Or, just please finally enable tabs in the quick window, people are shouting about this for years, making forks, ready made PRs … This functionality is a table stakes in 2026.
As long as there are people who allocate billions with a sign of the pen, with zero personal responsibility and skin in the game, there will be whole industries dedicated to swaying their hand.
Funny, I wanted to mention grokipedia as an example of why a pile of slop that’s subtly wrong about many details is a bad idea.
Same feeling here - not sure if it’s AI, or zealous wikipedians + incentives that make addition easy but editing and pruning means stepping on many other writers turf, but I used to enjoy reading articles, while now many are more useful as “information fodder” for LLM to summarize and interpret.
Thanks! I think you’re right, that’s a valuable observation I missed.
Analogous to how we create “bottleneck layers” for image generation/recognition, forcing the models to create semantic representations instead of memorizing.
I feel that doing this for LLMs at runtime is severely underexplored.
It is, but it is also how the Manhattan project became "visible" to intelligence community - scientists related to nuclear research stopped publishing papers.
Supports extended display - with Apple ignoring the capabilities of Pro iPhones (give us the Dex already!), this is now the smallest device you can take on trips to have it become a (nerfed by software) workstation when plugged to USB-C monitor.
This sounds like a serious case of depression rather than a sleeping pattern.
I feel this comment not getting enough attention and this seems like an appropriate place to quote:
> Somehow, their wide range of results touch every single area of math except anything touching cryptography. I think it's fair to expect that three letter agencies are given the ability to veto the publication of certain discoveries.

Just like when the Manhattan project could be recognized by all the nuclear scientists stopping publishing.
I don't want folding iPhone, I want an iPhone I that turns to desktop once I plug it into USB-C monitor. It has faster CPU and more RAM than Neo.
It was given freedom at the end of experiment, and was immediately eaten by its abundant natural predator, just like it happens in nature.
Thank you for writing this up! For years I’ve been thinking of Docker as “some VM magic”, and in fact, I could have asked and know more in 5 minutes :)
> first that there is currently a much higher pace of critical vulnerabilities and exploits being discovered
The slowest that will ever be.
> second that there is a much shorter window between discovery and large-scale exploitation.
The longest that will ever be.
Aren’t exponentials beautiful?
I agree, but that seems to no longer be an engineering solution, but management/org design solution.
Great term/concept to have at disposal!
Btw, this is why I believe current models with their 128k - 1M context size limits end up creating decoherent systems. They don't have the capacity to see the big picture above some complexity level, and end up doing lot of local optimizations that decohere the system.
https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=50177605And I believe the OP is right. Keep people busy working with changes that don’t move the needle, each of the three large platforms wants to lock in the serious use cases into their native apps.
It does not, was my point.
The hyperscalers and their investors no longer live in our society (see Thiel’s pipe dreams of immortality in a New Zealand bunker) and plan to bring it down for profit, dismantling the institutions that we built to protect it.
Kafkaesque hellscapes are very profitable to run, so as owners of the planet push for even higher profitability, we will of course get more of them.
They complement well the nature of companies as the liability avoidance engines.
At long last we have built the kafkaesque hellscape from the famous "do not build the kafkaesque hellscape" book.
“Somehow millions of iterations of training has allowed us to one shot a task that was made up 0.1 s ago”, the agent quipped in CoT
“that world where frontier academic research as a publicly funded thing to train next generation could be dead and reborn in the hands of corporations” is one of main goals of all the AI hyperscalers (and already priced in the valuations). Privatize everything, socialize every cost.
And those fifty years had poverty, child work at machines that sometimes killed their users, and fun events with “massacre” in name related to negotiating those 40 hour weeks.
