OK, this comment is even more nonsensical , I'm convinced you're just a bot
Re:Apple Maps puts all buildings back in Gaza on Monday November 02, 2026 @04:14PM (#50343852)
This number isn't real lol, you can't calculate these things mathematically , you might be having AI psychosis. Your comment also appears AI generated
Once you understand how complex the human brain is, with 86 billion neurons and 100 trillion synapses, formed over billions of years of evolution, comparing that to the machines we have built makes them seem silly and extremely simple in comparison.

Psycho-history is fiction. You're not going to be able to model a single human much less millions of humans and their environments.

Re:It's still OK to enjoy programming on Monday October 19, 2026 @04:35PM (#50157710)
This comes off as patronizing , as if there is only one perspective outcome that you must adjust to
Re:Maybe There Was an Egg Cartel After All on Monday October 19, 2026 @10:54AM (#50153240)
Neither are "economic governors" . The whole shtick in the US is that industry is privately owned, not controlled by a democratically elected body.
Re:Maybe There Was an Egg Cartel After All on Monday October 19, 2026 @10:53AM (#50153232)
This isn't really something that could be addressed by regulation. It's a natural consequence of capitalism. It's in every industry.

Re:Why We're Banning AI on Thursday October 15, 2026 @07:36PM (#50111845)
The people reading their magazine do. When "journalists" use LLM to write articles it's painfully obvious, there's a huge dip in quality, and it's an immediate turn off for anyone actually invested in the content.
DD-WRT isn't open-source though. OpenWRT is.
Re:Open Source as We Know It Is Dead on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @04:26AM (#49975733)
> We are now instructing our agents to leave comments, having the agents respond to those comments, even long threads where the agents debate technical decisions either both human author and human reviewer almost totally removed from the loop.

I'm sorry, this is totally ridiculous. Agents can't "debate" or have an opinion any more than your toaster can. They will generate opposing views of whatever you ask them to, regardless of its merit.

Re:Open Source as We Know It Is Dead on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @04:17AM (#49975660)
No, It's pretty obvious when someone is using an LLM to compose their messages
Except if you're one of the "warfighters" that Anthropic supports
Re:Plan Mode Is Dead on Saturday September 26, 2026 @04:32AM (#49854425)
Pretty embarassing state of affairs for this "engineering" discipline
So when other life exists in areas with humans, humans seek to exterminate it? Sad and cruel state of affairs.
Re:AI Safety Is Mostly a Sex Cult on Saturday September 19, 2026 @11:26AM (#49767322)
It's actually unhealthy that you think it's unhealthy to cry regularly. Perhaps you have trouble processing your emotions and just bottle them up instead, causing them to leak out in other situations or lead to outbursts?
Re: on Tuesday September 15, 2026 @10:04AM (#49712703)
This reads more like a personal essay than a research paper.

And the first sentence with an actual citation , which makes claims of SA, has been debunked . Much work has been put into attempting to find actual evidence for that claim, and none has been surfaced, it was a fabrication. The original reporting retracted. Why didn't the author include that?

Okay but when it's US "warfighters" making missiles it's good? Pretty hypocritical that isn't in the the "threat report" too.

People have been integrating/recommending brew on immutable distributions.
Re:Homebrew 7.0.0 on Sunday September 13, 2026 @10:44AM (#49684559)
These release notes appear generated by LLM, with the usual extreme verbosity. Wish a human had done a better job editing these.
Re:Don't be the out of touch Kung Fu master – John Carmack on Sunday September 13, 2026 @02:07AM (#49680534)
You're reducing programming to its utility in producing exchange value in the captitalist political economy. That's what "value" means in this context. That's exactly what I'm pointing out. Programming is more than that, if you can think beyond your current economic constraints. Your life's activity ought to be more than just a tool for producing capitalist exchange value.

Does cooking food serve any purpose beyond mass producing food for restaurants to sell?

Re:Don't be the out of touch Kung Fu master – John Carmack on Sunday September 13, 2026 @12:02AM (#49679904)
Ironically, this post comes off as out of touch. The purpose of the various martial arts isn't just to win in a life-or-death brawl or murder people as efficiently as possible. Similarly, the point of programming isn't just to generate as much code as possible, or only to be more "productive".
Kind of a good example on why conflating Judaism with Zionism leads to anti-semitism.
Re:Software Drives People Insane on Thursday September 10, 2026 @08:04PM (#49651795)
Seems like your actual argument is that competitive profiteering makes people insane. That is the motive here. Software is just the conduit.

As well as the people who work on software not being the ones making decisions about that work. A gap between the deciders and the laborers. Which is a result of the structure of the current micro political economy within organizations. It is not separate from it.

Re:How accurate have Ed Zitron's AI skeptic predictions been? on Wednesday September 02, 2026 @03:25AM (#49532909)
Yeah for real, an AI critic being popular is making everyone here lose their minds and try to come up with ten "Well Akshually..."
Re:How accurate have Ed Zitron's AI skeptic predictions been? on Wednesday September 02, 2026 @03:18AM (#49532861)
Yeah, the three tables just looking at revenue and profit YoY is pretty laughable financial analysis.

The word "terrorist" is almost always used in a propaganda context. There's a good book you should check out, that surveys media mentions and provides hard statistical evidence for this: Manufacturing Consent.
Capitalist right-wing vs nativist right-wing

You'd better hope Bill Gates stops buying up all the farmland then.
