Am I missing the TAM in here like we saw in SpaceX's S-1?
ok but what are the legitimate use cases you have for this? We were promised something similar with Google Home et al but they are glorified light switches and timers in my home. I run a homelab, I have technical ambitions, but I cannot think of a single thing in my life that I would rather talk to a local AI about than just do it myself or sit down and prompt Claude manually for.
Literally the US and Canada have interconnections.
I don't care, I'm extremely bullish on distillation models like this. Plus anything that'll take the wind out of Anthropic's and OpenAI's IPO sails.
this: gh actions using an opencode harness (so we can use cheap models through OpenCode Zen). With the right model, and the right, scoped access, it's just a prompt away.
bugbot was costing us $1k per month for a small team. EVEN IF we decide to go with a paid or say something like GPT Sol for our custom harness it'll cost us maybe $100. We've already implemented all of bugbot's interesting features like cross-PR memory.
the cool thing is we can leverage this for things that bugbot cannot do. Just today I added a security-reviewer action reusing almost all of the code that we wrote for the code reviewer.
I can't wait for them to never actually produce this or, if I'm wrong and they do, I can't wait for someone to seriously injure themselves or someone else.
Anecdata: Windows has been rock solid for me for over a decade, including the latest versions.
Given raw Linux or WSL I'd choose WSL 9 times out of 10.
Honestly I feel the Windows hate is forced or due to self-inflicted issues.
I consider myself an AI power user. There's nothing wrong with Git or GitHub. Both work perfectly both personally and at my org.
Don't worry, they'll just ask Grok.
Google is not a serious player in this space. They make benchmark phones for their industry partners.
The best thing I ever did was buy an e-paper display watch (pebble) which lasts weeks not hours.
new foldables are surprisingly strong along the spine. Not impossible to snap or damage but would support being accidentally sat on without it being catastrophic, for example.
The blanket application of "reading Claudish makes you tired? You must be illiterate", for one.
It's not that we can't understand what it's saying (for the most part) it's just when something is very jargon-dense, our brains have to pause or take an additional step to deobfuscate the actual meaning of the word or phrase. It's mentally draining.
> foxtail grass
ah yeah we call this spear grass locally (and probably also foxtail) and never read what it can do. (spoiler below)
they can burrow their way into the bloodstream and travel down to the heart & lungs. So incredibly dangerous for something so pervasive and normal.
It's very disheartening as someone who enjoys recreational fishing that the river closures -- typically legally closed to fishing, but otherwise ethically closed -- are getting earlier and earlier. That is, if the rivers aren't straight up bone dry peak summer.
I'm pretty young, too, so I have this, if not worse than this, to look forward to for the majority of my life.
Not to mention here in BC we're up to three summers in a row where entire towns have burned down ... not a positive sign of things to come.
"Sure I'm indirectly funding the erosion of basic human rights in the States, but at least I made my Hello World app cheaper!"
And unfortunately, more ineptitude, more chaos.
reading "those who pay more in taxes should have a greater say in how the government is spending the money" and NOT taking that to mean what the OP is suggesting it to mean is naive. Everyone knows what Tobias meant when he said that.
It's really unfortunate that the same traits that make you great at building a business (within capitalism) also often make you have psychopathic tendencies.
Kind of funny that he lists himself as "Creator of Ghostty" first and not Hashicorp.
I get what you're saying and two wrongs do not make a right but the irony, and why people are even talking about this, is that the thing being distilled clearly, and knowingly, violated copyright & terms across the entire internet.
An AI slop article about the limitations of vibe coding. How ironic.
Sorry but I'm not reading an AI slop article no matter how pertinent or interesting the subject is. You want my attention? Earn it. Write it yourself.
Yes: because it will simply steal (rather, has stolen) this guy's genuine, human, work.
I use AI for my job. I understand the impact (as much as anyone can) that it will have on society. I recognize the value.
But I just want to say that talking with AI casually is critically lame. I cringe every time I have to ask my Google Home to turn on the lights and people are having full-on conversations with it? And, imo, dangerous considering how sycophantic AI is. The stupidest, most gullible, most insecure person right now is looking at this thinking they are about to make a new friend.
Even in the age of AI how the hell can you make a game without programmers?
Yeah. Remember when that guy made Doom in TypeScript types? That was incredible. This feels shallow and dull. Interesting idea and cool that ClickHouse -- a primarily human made piece of software -- can even do this but I agree it no longer does it for me.
I love my pebble time 2. I wanted a tide app for fishing -- there wasn't one for my country yet (Canada, there are some good US ones)... So I had Claude make me one and had it on my wrist in an hour or so. I think they did a really good job with the dev. process with this watch.
It costs nothing to not be pedantic.
