Re:Bosses won’t like it but WFH is a happier way to work on Monday September 25, 2023 @09:16PM (#37653078)
I have an employee that has to be at work at the office. Otherwise he gets depressed due to lack of human interaction.

Like me, he's an introvert. But I force him to go to the office and I go to just to keep him alive.

How about we put the few human-animals back in their cages, so the rest of us can live in a civilization that doesn't need to have clear bags full of trash on display.
I know exactly how Oakland votes.

Therefore I'm glad they function as a magnet for people who are up to no good. Keeps the rest of us safer.

Once they vote to rejoin and participate in our law abiding civilisation, I'll be concerned with their plight.

Someone is pointing out that drag-queen shows directed at young children are weird and that enacting Portlands policies may not make for a safe city! Can't have that!
The French have been there for thousands of years with their own culture. If your not part of that culture, your not French.
You can't do that! Without keeping differing ethnicities at war with each other, how can we maintain power?
The lab leak theory will always be suppressed. Because we Americans paid for the lab.
I've lived in France and the idea is to make an attempt to speak French. After they have surmised that you sincerely are making an attempt and that you are also butchering their language, they'll do their best to meet you with English if they can.

Also don't talk to federal agents.

Lying to a federal agent is a felony, and often times they don't have enough evidence for the original crime, but by talking to you they get evidence of you lying

Selling an asset is much different than shutting down what is a now a liability.

Unless the immigrants adopt Korean culture, then even then, Korea won't exist.
Perhaps reevaluate if the startup is financially good for you and your family.
Re:Ask HN: What made your startup fail? on Sunday February 05, 2023 @08:07PM (#34671903)
I'm so comfortable with an ok income from the current business that I haven't started the startup I know in my heart would be wildly successful.
Your examples show that you can express these ideas in English quite fine.
What else is going on in your life that makes influencing other people's children so important to you?
When government is buying the books for our children, it's ok to be cautious.

What I have seen is that parents are objecting their young children being sexualized with taxpayer money.

I'm ok with convicted rapists having to sit elections out.

Judicial overreach of felonies is a different discussion.

No political party is going to say the quiet parts out loud.
I a bit of a nutter and ran for a local election because nobody sane would run against this truly crazy lady.

Seriously, if your remotely a decent person of any political stripe please consider running for a election. Especially if you don't want to. You'll do a lot of good.

Definitions change indeed. We also have the right to push back on changing them.

I come from a culture that is thousands of years old, and don't wish to change the definition of "Mom" just yet without good reason.

In some places in America the police are vastly over funded, but in other places we have much lower police to citizen ratios than NYC.

Police defunding in Seattle would be a disaster for example.

If I was selling tshirts with funny liberal memes, Twitter would know exactly who to target my ads to.

I disagree. Having a fulfilling life in service to others and your family drives away depression.
Re:Apply for student loan debt forgiveness on Monday October 17, 2022 @02:52AM (#33230489)
If the economy and the ability for my employees to work we're the same, then indeed it would have been bonus money for me.

However because of covid cash flow issues, I would have had to fire half of my employees without the loan and the payback. That would have sucked for all of us.

Frankly, as I see it, the PPP program was better than the alternatives as my employees didn't wind up on unemploymet.

In one way the PPP is a bad idea as it doesn't let the market correct itself as well as it might - perhaps my company is too fragile. However, we then to not like to see people starving and losing their homes. Clutters up the sidewalks.

Re:Apply for student loan debt forgiveness on Friday October 14, 2022 @10:28PM (#33211099)
I got 87k in PPP loans. It was forgiven, but it all went to my employees.

That's a good thing.

For some non-Christians.

Some of us non-Christians are open to reasonable people of every persuasion.
