Re:Ask HN: Could I find a summary of the news in the last N days on Wednesday December 07, 2022 @11:20AM (#33896188)
Not exactly what you're asking for but I've found wikipedia pages like this to avoid the "marketing" problem of news.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Current_events/December...

If anyone knows how I could get this emailed at the end of the day/week/month I would be very interested as well

Re:TSMC to make 4nm chips in Arizona for Apple, AMD, Nvidia on Thursday December 01, 2022 @12:46PM (#33819718)
Phoenix is a massive hub for semi-conductor manufacturing and data centers partly because there are no natural disasters.

A lot of water is required to start but a huge majority is recycled. Heat can be a problem in the summer but it's extremely predictable and commonly dealt with.

As an Arizona native, occasionally my paranoia about living in a desert and simultaneously living through world wide climate change begins to really worry me.

Inevitably I come to a conclusion that is very similar to yours. Arizona is pretty low on priority for water from the Colorado River and does a great job with water reclamation.

That being said, I worry if I'm just believing what I want to hear

We each have personal checking and savings. We have a joint credit card, checking and savings.

We maintain a ratio based of our base salaries. If I make 200k and she makes 100k then I pay for 66% of the joint cc, mortgage, utilities, etc. and she pays the remaining 33%. Anything we do, or use together gets split like this. Eating out, vacation, etc.

Since bonuses and stock are unpredicitable they do not form our "split percentage" but it all just goes into joint savings.

Besides that If I want to buy tech, video games, gym membership, whatever I pay for that personally. Same for her clothing, makeup, hobbies etc.

I grew up with daily fighting over how my parents spent each others money. Those scars are very deep and this is my attempt to avoid them. We've only been at it for a couple years now but it's great so far.

Personally I find edibles ideal. I love the 1-2 hour come up. I love knowing exactly how much I'm taking and what I'm getting myself into.

With any form of smoking or vaping I have no idea how high I'm going to get. I hate the smoke, the coughing, the throat burning and just about everything else. I also hate going from sober to high in less that a minute, the come up is my favorite part.

I'm not trying to discount your opinion at all. I just found it fascinating to have such polar opposite experiences with the same thing. I also assumed smoking was so popular just because it was the only convenient way to use when it was illegal. Now that it's legal I just assumed most have formed a habit they haven't really considered or realized.

EDIT: Also just for context, my range varies from 3mg - 15mg depending on if I'm going for a little buzz or completely stoned
